It’s Time To Get Hot & Passionate In The Shower | Lush Valentines Day 2024

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I thought that today I would talk to you all about the Valentines Day 2024 Range from Lush.

PSA: If a product has been out before and I have talked about it then I will link the post where I’ve talked about it before. For example, Love Bug has been out before so I will link a previous Lush Valentine’s Day post where I’ve talked about Love Bug before.

Bath Bombs

Love Potion

Time to drop this potion into the bath before midnight or you’ll never find your happily ever after. This bath bomb is fit for anyone who’s feeling a little bit lustful. This bomb contains Popping Candy, Sicilian Red Mandarin and Almond Essential Oils alongside Orris Root Powder. This bomb reminds me of Love Hearts sweets. These sweets are the epitome of Valentines Day to me so to have a bath bomb that smells exactly like it is amazing for me. In the bath, the popping candy comes alive and the scent is powerful. If you’re looking for a little treat for yourself or for someone who loves sort of fruity sweet scents then I would recommend this one. Priced at £3.50.

Whispering Heart

It’s time to whisper sweet nothings. This bath bomb contains Bergamot and Brazilian Orange Oils to create a sweet fruity scent. This bomb shares the same scent as the Rhubarb & Custard Soap from Lush so if you like the soap then I am sure that you will adore this bath bomb. To me, I am not the biggest fan of the soap but I love it in the bomb. Weird, I know. To me, it reminds me of old school sweet shops and honestly the great days of my uputh when I didn’t have a care int he world or crippling mental health problems… The design of the bath bomb may look odd to some. If you are wondering what the heart cut out at the top of the bath bomb is all about then its to not only remind you that love is all around but it is for you to whisper your hearts desire into. This is definitely a bomb that will make you feel sweet all over. It is also giving Spring and I am definitely here for that. I would recommend this bomb to anyone who loves those old fashioned sweets or wants a bomb that will give them a spring in their step. If you are giving this to a loved one or even yourself then I would also recommend writing something sweet on a strip of paper and putting it into the heart shaped hole for a little surprise when it comes to enjoying the bath bomb in the tub. Priced ai £6.

Flower Bombshell

This is the perfect bomb to get to your favourite bombshell!

This bath bomb was out last year under the name of Valentines Bombshell. Read last years Lush Valentines Day post here to read all about the bomb. Priced at £14.

A neon pink heart shaped bath bomb split into two filled with red and white flowers tied with pink string on a bright background

Big Squeeze

We all need a big squeeze now and again.

This bath bomb contains Juniperberry and Sweet Wild Orange Oils to create a lovely light grape scent. This bath bomb is big enough for a two person bath. To me, when I first sniffed this bomb in store I didn’t get grape… I got the scent of PVA Glue. I did sniff it a week later at a different store and I did get grape from it. Priced at £5.50.

Love Letter

This bath bomb is a brand new one for 2024!

This bath bomb contains Coconut Milk Powder, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Bergamot, Geranium and Olibanum Oils. This bomb not only creates a wonderful nourishing bath for the skin due to the Cocoa Butter and Coconut Milk Powder but creates a wonderful bath via the scent. The oils in this bomb merge together to create a very rich Strawberry scent. If you have tried anything from Lush that is under the name of D’Fluff or Yummy, Yummy, Yummy then you will love this cute bath bomb as they all share the same scent. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes to just lock the bathroom door and relax in the bath or for anyone who loves rich fruity scents or honestly for anyone who loves Strawberry Milkshakes as I think that you may like the scent of this bath bomb. Priced at £4.

Love Bug

Who doesn’t catch the love bug at Valentines Day?

I have talked about this priduct before, click here to read all about it. Priced at £6.

Bubble Bars

BFF

It’s time to give your BBF some love!

This brand new bubble bar is perfect to share with your partner, best friend or just anyone who you want to give some love to. This bubbles bar contains Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Ylang Ylang Oil and Synthetic Musk. This bubble bar shares the same scent as the Butterball Bath Bomb from Lush and is perfect for those who like a clean sort of scent. To me, the scent gives off notes of cocoa and vanilla and I mean who doesn’t like cocoa and vanilla? Not only does this bubble bar smell gorgeous but its also great for the body due to the shredded Cocoa Butter that is in the bar. What are you waiting for? Grab one and split with someone to show how much you love them! Priced at £7.

Strawberry Crumble

This bubble bar has been mentioned in a previous post, click here to read all about Strawberry Crumble! Priced at £8.

Shower Gel

Passion Shower Gel

It’s time to grab someone into the shower and get passionate.

This shower gel is a brand new product for 2024 and is definitely one to grab whilst you can. This gel contains Red Rose Petal Infusion, Fine Sea Salt, Fresh Passion Fruit Juice Buchu, Litsea Cubeba and Sweet Wild Orange Oils. This mixture of oils creates a wonderful zesty Passion Fruit scent that will perk anyone up on the darkest of days. This gel also contains Lush’s new glycerine suspended glitter formula to ensure that glitter doesn’t just sink to the bottom of the bottle. If you’re more of a shower than a bath fan then I definitely urge you to pick this up. Even if you’re not the biggest of Valentine’s fans then you can always just use this in the morning to give you a spring in your step. I absolutely adore it and do wish that it comes back out in the future after Valentines Day or even back out as a Body Spray… prices start at £8 for a 100g bottle.

A white hand holding a cylindrical clear bottle filled with dark red-orange shower gel dispersed with silver glitter throughout with a cylindrical black lid and a rectangular black label that says passion shower gel lush in white font on a bright background

Passion Fruit Delight Body Wash

This body wash is definitely one to try. I have already talked about this delightful body wash, please click here to read it. Priced at £3.60 online but due to sizing it may be different sizes that are cut in store.

A wide angled photo of a light brown shelf containing some cube bright orange pieces of body wash next to a black crectnafuoar card that says passion fruit delight body wash in white font on a bright background

Kiss Me Quick Shower Jelly

You better kiss them quick before that shower gets too hot and steamy!

This shower jelly is brand new for 2024 but you may know the name from somewhere. This shower jelly contains Fresh Strawberry Juice, Clove Bud Oil and Mimosa and Tonka Absolutes. If you have shopped at Lush for a long while then you may recognise the name under the old Kiss Me Quick Washcard that was out a fair few years ago. To me, this jelly smells like a sort of sexy  yet spicy fragrance that has a Strawberry undertone to it that would be perfect to wear on a cold winters day or on date night. I love the shape of this Shower Jelly too as it reminds me of those big cherry lip sweets. Definitely one to whiff in store if you get the chance to. Priced at £7.

A photo of a big red shower jelly shaped as a pair of red lips on a bright background

Posh White Chocolate & Rose Body Wash

To paraphrase Posh, if you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my need to buy all of the Lush products especially the limited edition ones.

This body wash contains Coconut Milk Powder, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Australian Sandalwood Oil, Rose and Vanilla Absolute. To me, the amalgamation of these oils and absolutes creates a wonderfully rich floral yet creamy scent that is the epitome of well white chocolate and rose with a sort of almond base to it. I also have quite dry skin and this body wash nourished my skin beautifully.  I would definitely pair this with Posh Chocolate and nice as a gift! Prices start at £10 for a 100g tub.

A white hand holding a tall cylindrical black tub with a circular lid with a back rectangular lid that says posh white chocolate and rose body wash lush in white font on a bright background

Rose Argan Massage Bar

Who doesn’t love a rose on Valentine’s Day?

This massage bar contains Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Fair Trade She’s Butter, Ruby Cocoa Liquor, argan Oil, Pakistani Rose Absolute, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Getanium Oil and Rose Oil. Thie almagamation of oils and absolutes creates a deep yet sweet Rose scent that can be smelt for miles. If you’re a fan of Rose Jam then you’ll love this as they share the same scent! I love massage bars even they take forever to use up. I have dry skin so I forever love using these for when my skin isn’t being great. You can use them on yourself like I do or on a partner to create some love in the air! This particular massage bar does contain glitter which I adore but some may not so do keep that in mind. Priced at £10.

Lush Melts

Queen Of Hearts Lush Melt

For when the argument has riled up on Valentines Day, break some of this wax melt off and scream off with your head!

This lush melt contains Almond, Geranium and Organic Rose Hip soups and Violet Leaf and Absolute. To me this creates a quite sweet scent with a hint of floral with a big base note of Strawberry. I do love these. With the Lush melts you can use these in the bathroom or in the wax burner. Honestly I’ve only tried them in the burner so I do think that I need to try them in the bath maybe… Priced at £7..

A photo of a rectangular chocolate bar shaped wax and bath melt that is shaded in a. Very light pink colour with a red heart on the other side. The side showing on the photo has lush melt engraved into it and the melt is on a bright background

Jasmine Cream Lush Melt

This Lush Melt contains Cold Press Strawberry Seed Oil, Bergamot Oil, Benzoin Resinoid and Ylang Ylang Oil. To me, this creates a very light but very creamy floral scent that just evokes the beginning of Spring to me. Again, I haven’t used this in the bath yet but when I do I can imagine using it first thing in the morning to help me get in the mood for going outside and cracking on with the day.  Priced at £7.

Soap

Strawberry Heart Soap

Take a little piece of my heart.

This soap contains Fresh Aloe Vera Gel, Fresh Strawberry Juice, Bergamot, Olibanum and Geranium Oils. This also shares the same scent as Love Letters so they would go great together. I adore this Soap. Not only does it leave your hands utterly soft and nourished due to the Aloe Vera Gel and other great butters and oils such as Coconut and Rapeseed Oils that make up the base but also contains a scent that’s nearly good enough to eat. I have also used this in the bath alongside Love Letters on the skin and it has left my skin beautifully soft and scented for the day ahead. Priced at  £5.

A zoomed in photo of a stack of cube shaped pieces of red soap with a white and pink heart in the centre of each slice on a light brown rectangular shelf next to a black rectangular card that says strawberry heart soap lush in white font on a bright background

My Lil Cute Chia Piglet Soap

C’mon piglet, its time to move from the woods to the bathroom!

This soap contains Soya Milk, Chia Seeds, Tonka and Vanilla Absolutes and Litsea Cubeba Oil. I know that it’s not Piglets fault but I really didn’t like this utterly cute soap. The texture was beautiful as the Soya Milk and Chia Seeds left my hands feeling soft and supple. The scent on the other hand was a bit questionable sadly. Lush describe this scent as being a mix of Milky Bath and Super Milk. I have used and loved both scent but together honestly it just smelt a bit like faint citrus mixed with Plastic. I’d definitely give this one a sniff before they go but it just wasn’t for me. Priced at £6.

A white hand holding a pink pig shaped soap next to a black rectangular card that says my cute lil chia piglet soap lush in white font on a bright background

Lips

Sweet Talk Lip Scrub

Now all that sweet talking is done, you better scrub your lips!

This scrub contains Caster Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Raspberry Seed Oil, Rose Oil, Sweet Wild Orange Oil and Vanilla Absolute. To me, this scrub smelt like an Orange Dreamsicle sort of vibe. The rose to me is very much in the background when it comes to Sweet Talk. I did quite like this one but I honestly have a massive hoard of lip scrubs that I never get through. If you love citrus then you will love Sweet Talk! Priced at £7.

A white hand holding a glass cylindrical jar containing neon orange lip scrub with a black lid that has a black circular lid that says sweet talk lip scrub lush in white font on a bright background

Crush Lip Butter

Time to make your lips kissable for your perfect crush!

This lip butter contains Organic Castor Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Brazilian Orange Oil, Orange Flower Absolute and Grapefruit Oil. This to me creates a deep but strong citrus scent. To me, the two citrus oils are front and centre whilst the Orange Flower Absolute just creates a wonderfully citrus yet slightly floral base for the two oils to sing. I have quite dry lips and I have to be careful what I use due to my lip piercing and having temperamental skin but I love this. It’s thick and nourishing and has such a beautiful scent/taste that has perked my day up. I would definitely recommend grabbing one before they go! Priced at £6.

A white hand holding a small thin black cylindrical tube containing orange lip butter with a circular black lid with crush in white font on a bright background

Face

Prince Charming Sheet Mask

Wear this to allure your own Prince Charming or even gift to that Prince Charming who forgets to look after their skin!

This sheet mask contains Marshmallow Root and Vanilla Pod Infusion, Kaolin, Carageenan Powder, Grapefruit, Sandalwood and Geranium Oils and Pomegranate Juice. I’m sorry but I don’t think this is my Prince Charming. I love the idea but for some reason this is just beyond creepy for me. The scent is beautiful and the mask did leave my face feeling pampered but the design is just a lot for me…  Priced at £8.

A light pink frog inspired man inspired sheet mask with two red heart shaped cheeks on a bright background

Fragrance

New Romantics

The urge for me to not sing New Romantics by Taylor Swift (Taylors Version of course) or to put on music that was at the peak of culture during the New Romantics era whilst I type this is dire.

This perfume was inspired by the New Romantics Era and has been designed to not only suit everyone no matter what gender you identify as but also changes on everyones skin due to the PH level that you have.

This perfume contains Sweet Wild Orange, Davana and Pimentoberry Oils. When I spray this perfume, the initial scent (I guess top note) is freshly squeezed Orange Juice, when this settles, I then got a blast of spice to the face. I then noticed that after a long while, the perfume left my skin smelling strongly or a fruity sort of creamy Peach (similar to Peachy from Lush) scent. I do like this but I have to be in a particular mood and the weather has to be at least bright or breezy for me to enjoy it. It is very much a love or loathe scents and is definitely worth a smell and spritz if you can! Priced at £30.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Gentle Peeling Water & Micellar Reusable Make-Up Remover Eco Pads Review

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. I recently got sent some goodies from the wonderful PR team from Garner UK and I thought that today I would talk to you all about two of the products that I was sent.
A photo of a tall cylindrical bottle filled with clear liquid with a clear label that says garner micellar gentle peeling water in black font nwxt to a square white box containing circular white pads with garner eco pads in black font on a bright background

So if you are following me on my social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram then you may have noticed that I have been trying to get back into using makeup recently. (Would you want some makeup reviews? Let me know down below). I also travel from time to time and for both of these reasons I have been looking for a decent micellar water that I can use to remove makeup and that I can use on the go when it comes to travelling throughout the UK so when I received my parcel from Garner and noticed that they had included the stunning Gentle Peeling Water I was amazed as it was just what I was looking for.

This Micellar Gentle Peeling Water contains 1% PHA and Glycolic Acid which is an AHA. These active skincare ingredients help to smooth uneven skin texture, boost radiance, minimise enlarged pores, removes makeup and gently exfoliates the skin due to AHA and PHA’s being a chemical exfoliant for the skin.

I have been using this Micellar Water for a month now and I absolutely love it. I used to not be the biggest fan of Micellar Water as it sometimes felt a bit thick on my skin and took a while to dry on my skin but this Gentle Peeling Water is lightweight and sinks into my skin instantly. I have skin texture and can breakout easily due to being lactose intolerant and using this Peeling Water has definitely helped it alongside my usual skin routine.

I love using this micellar water to remove makeup when I’ve had a long day. All I have to do is wipe this onto my skin and it removes it instantly. I don’t use many full coverage products though at the moment so I may have to use some and see how well this product removes them too. I have also put some into a mini bottle to take with me on the go and trust me it has been a godsend for me whilst I’ve been on the go or at a hotel. Sometimes when I do spend time at a hotel I sometimes forget some beauty products due to rushing when packing in the morning so if I’ve forgotten a cleanser I have used this product and it has worked beautifully as a replacement for my normal cleanser in my routine.

The scent of this Micellar Water is light and citrus to me. It reminds me of Oranges and Mangoes which I know sounds weird but it really does. The scent isn’t too strong compared to some beauty products that I have used in the past which I love especially if I’m using this product late at night.

To accompany the Micellar Water, Garner kindly sent me their Eco Pads to try out. Now, I am picky when it comes to what I use to wash or wipe my face with because of my sensory issues. I know a lot of the time with Toners and Micellar Waters, Cotton Pads are recommended but honestly I have forever hated the feeling of them. When I saw these Eco Pads, I was ecstatic as it meant I could use something on my face on the go that honestly didn’t make me want to peel my own skin off. I also love that they are reusable and washable which makes them great for the environment. You can whack them in with the rest of your washing or just wash in the sink. I love this as it means I can just wash them and leave them overnight to dry in the hotel if I’m using them there or just in my bathroom. These Eco Pads feel amazingly soft on the skin which I adore. You also get three pairs of Eco Pads in one packet which means that you can use a pair whilst one is being washed. I would definitely pick up a couple of packets to give as gifts alongside the Micellar Water.
Would I buy again? Definitely. This product has definitely gotten me back into using both makeup and Micellar Water and I love it. The scent of the Micellar Water is refreshing and the product contains active ingredients to help your skin out. The Eco Pads are soft and wipe away all the grime from your face amazingly. What’s not to love?

Have you tried these products? Would you try them? Let me know down below.

Thanks to Garner PR for sending these products.

Golden Geese Create The Most Beautiful Eggs | Lush Easter Range 2023 First Impressions

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. I recently went to Lush White Rose to check out the new Lush Easter Range and I thought that today I would talk to you all about it.;

Bath Bombs:

Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt

Golden Eggs only come from the most beautiful Geese in the land.

If you have been an avid Lush fan for a few years now then you may know about Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt and for those that aren’t so much then I am here to help. This brilliant bath bomb melt contains Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Brazilian Orange and Bergamot Oils. The Cocoa Butter and Olive Oil help to create the melt part of the bomb which slowly melts in the bath and helps to nourish the skin whilst the Orange and Bergamot help to create wonderful honeycomb/toffee scent that has a wonderfully refreshing citrus undertone to it.

This has been one of the bombs that I have looked forward to seeing when it appears in the Easter range. In previous years, the melt slowly melts into the water making it feel super soft whilst the bomb fizzed away into the waters and when in collaboration the Golden Egg created some amazing bath art so I am hoping for the same with this one. I absolutely love the scent that this gives off and if you are familiar with the Honey I Washed The Kids range then you will find out when you use this product that Golden Egg shares the same scent. I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good glittery bomb or wants a bomb in the bath that will give them the most softest skin the world. Priced at £4.50.

(If you try it then please don’t hesitate to let me know your thoughts on it).

A zoomed in photo of a bunch of oval shaped golden eggs with gold glitter shaped bath bombs in a circular wooden light brown bowl with a black rectangular card with golden egg bath bomb melt in white font on a bright background

Follow The White Rabbit

This Easter, be inspired by Alice and follow the White Rabbit all the way to your bathtub! This bath bomb has become a bit of a staple when it comes to the Easter range at Lush for the past couple of years. That’s for a good reason as not only does this bomb look gorgeous but looks cute too! This bomb contains Bergamot, Buchu and Sicilian Lemon Oils which may sound like an odd mixture but it works beautifully as the mixture of ingredients creates a sort of fresh citrusy yet slightly sweet scent to me with notes of Blackcurrant in the background. If you are familiar with the Carrots scent family (which appears in another product in this range) then you may be happy to find out that Follow The White Rabbit shares the same scent. I love the vibrant colours that come spiralling out of this cute white rabbit when it is in the bath and I love that it has Popping Candy in it too. The popping candy alongside the colours and scent help to create a multi-sensory bath experience that makes you feel like you have stepped into Wonderland. I would definitely recommend this for someone who loves to be creative or for anyone who loves a good bit of colour in their life or really anyone who loves AlIce In Wonderland as I am sure that they will love this bath bomb that has been inspired by it. Priced at £4.

Flamingo Egg

Which came first? The Flamingo or the Egg? This bath bomb has been in the past few Easter ranges and its easy to grasp why as it looks like the perfect gift to give someone at Easter. This bath bomb contains Coarse Sea Salt, Labdanum, Resinoid, Sicilian Lemon and Vetivert Oils. To start off with, this bomb creates some beautiful bath art as it helps to turn the waters a lovely swirling mixture of pink and blue. The Labdanum, Lemon and Vetivert help to create a sort of sweet shop like scent. In my opinion, the scent of this bomb reminds me of those foam banana sweets with a touch of candy floss in the background so if you like really sweet scents then I am sure that you will love this but for me sometimes this scent can be a little too intense for me. (I know I know, that’s hard to fathom due to liking Snow Fairy and the lot but my nose is a weird one). I would recommend this to someone who is looking for a Easter egg alternative this Easter. I also think that this would make a perfect addition to a sort of Easter Hamper style gift. Priced at £5.

A zoomed in photo of a large oval pink shaped bath bomb with blue salts in the middle on a bright background

Ostara

Let’s celebrate the Spring Equinox in the tub!

Ostara is a Pagan holiday that is focused around balance, rebirth and renewal. This bomb contains Bergamot, Lime and Violet Leaf Oil. This concoction of products help to create a sort of intense Blackcurrant scent which I absolutely adore but then again I love anything that is Blackcurrant scented. Ostara shares the same scent as What’s Up Doc? Shower Gel that was out in 2022. Furthermore, Ostara is a 2 in 1 bomb. Inside this beautiful bunny there is an egg that is waiting to be dropped into the water. You can either use Ostara as one big bomb or crack it open and use the Egg and Bunny separately. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who loves anything Blackcurrant scented or wants a cute gift that will surprise them or for someone who just wants a luxurious bath during Ostara or Easter. Ericed at £7.

Bubble Bars:

Baby Rainbow Carrots

You can’t have Easter without Carrots! These baby carrots are cute and come in an array of colours that correlate with the rainbow! This product contains Bergamot, Buchu and Sicilian Lemon Oils alongside Carrot Powder. I love the scent of these as they smell oh so fresh. These baby carrots share the same scent as the Follow The White Rabbit Bath Bomb and would be an amazing product to pair with to create an amazing bath. No matter what your favourite colour is, you’ll be able to find a Baby Carrot in that colour. I think that these would be amazing gift to give to someone. Grab a FTWR and a Baby Carrot or two and create a customised gift set! Priced at £3.

A close up shot of a bunch of different coloured carrot shaped bubble bars including red, orange and blue in a circular light brown bowl with a black rectangular card that says baby rainbow carrots bubble bar in white font on a bright background

Henny Penny

Cluck, cluck! This bubble bar contains Olibanum Oil, Bergamot Oil and Acorn Powder. This product shares the same scent as the Sultana Of Soap/Blackberry family of products from Lush so if you like the soap or the old Blackberry Bomb then you will definitely love this. To me, I don’t really get Blackberry or Sultana, I get more of a Watermelon scent with a floral undertone to it so it’s not my favourite scent family personally. I do love the concept of the bubble bar and love that its shaped as a Hen. Priced at £5.50.

A photo of a bunch of golden hen shaped bubble bars tin a light brown square box with a black cards that says Henry penny in white font pin a bright background

Shower:

Celebrate Body Scrub

Lets pop that cork and celebrate the good times! This body scrub contains Ground White Rice, Sweet Wild Orange and Lime Oils. This scrub is a foaming scrub which I quite like. The foaming action creates a subtle yet super nourishing lather which my dry skin adores. The rice adds a soft scrub which I adore as it means that I can control how hard I want to scrub compared to more gritty scrubs which take that away from me. The scent is amazing. If you love the Celebrate scent from Lush then you will love this as it shares the same scent. To me, this scrub and the scent just evokes Summer to me. A light scrub that you would use before going to the beach with the addition of a scent which sums up cocktails. Just amazing. I’d definitely recommend trying this out if you can. Priced at £14 for 240g.

A white hand holding a black cylindrical large tub filled with yellow scrub with a black label that says celebrate foaming body scrub in white font on a bright background

Gummy Bear Shower Jelly

Another favourite that is back for another year! This Shower Jelly contains Coconut Milk, Fresh Mango Juice, Buchu, Cardamom, Litsea Cubeba and Sweet Wild Orange Oils.  I love this scent. It reminds me of a Mango Lassi or a can of Rubicon Mango. I love how the Coconut Milk ensures that the skin is hydrated and just adds a fragrance note to the background of this product that makes you wonder what it is. Furthermore, I also love the shape of this Jelly. I mean who doesn’t love a good Bear? Definitely worth getting if you like tropical scents or want to give a cute gift to someone. Priced at £6.

A photo of a orange gummy bear shaped shower jelly on a bright background

Golden Egg Shower Gel

Why not have a Golden Shower this Easter? This Shower Gel contains Fine Sea Salt, Lactic Acid, Bergamot Oil and Brazilian Orange Oil. This indeed shares the same scent as Golden Egg Bath Bomb Melt. To me, this smells like rich and delicious toffee with a touch of citrus in the background that kind of helps the toffee be more sweet? This is the same scent as Honey I Washed The Kids and yes there is a Shower Gel with that name and scent but Golden Egg is completely Vegan where as HIWTK Shower Gel isn’t. In my opinion, HIWTK Shower Gel kind of smells of burnt honey with a vert floral undertone. I actually found a bottle of It’s Raining Men which was the first iteration of this gel and Golden Egg smells a bit more like that to me. I also love this gel because well I’m a child and its shiny and full of glitter! My friend Michelle also says that she associates this scent with me because I have loved it since we first met years ago. Go in, give both of the gels a sniff and let me know what you think. Do you prefer HIWTK or Golden Egg Shower Gel? Let me know. Priced at £7 for a 125g bottle.

A white hand holding a clear cylindrical bottle filled with sparkly golden shower gel with a black label that says Golden Egg Shower Gel in white font on a bright background

Soap:

Rainbows & Waterfalls

Thiis soap is a brand new soap for 2023. This soap contains Marshmallow Root Infusion, Watermelon Juice, Bergamot Oil and Rose Oil. To me, this isn’t my favourite soap. I like a touch of Watermelon when it comes to scents but I’m not the biggest fan of that very strong Watermelon scent that some may know mainly through it being a flavour of a well known American Candy. I’m surprised that Watermelon takes the main focus here especially as this soap contains Rose and normally Rose has a tendency of dominating sometimes. If you love Watermelon scents then you will love this soap. Luke kept asking if we were near the soap and when I said no he was confused as he could smell it quite strongly which is saying something. This product also shares the same scent as Watermelon Sugar Lip Scrub so I would recommend pairing the two together for a little bundle of joy for someone. Priced at £6.

A wide shot photo of some rainbow coloured chunks of soap on a light brown shelf with a black rectangular card that says rainbows and waterfalls soap ub white fist ib a bright vacjgriybd

Rock Star Rabbit

If only Chaz and Dave were rockstars. This soap contains Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Castor Oil and Vanilla Absolute. If you remember the old Rockstar Soap from Lush then you will love this soap as it has been reimagined as this rocking rabbit for 2023. The scent reminds me of candy floss and sugar. I guess if you took Snow Fairy and added a little bit of creaminess then you would end up with the scent of this product. To me, its nice but like Rainbows and Waterfalls its quite strong so I can see some people not enjoying this as much but I kind of love it as the Vanilla adds that sort of scent that you have to search for in the soap. If you love sweet scents then this soap is definitely worth checking out. Priced at £5.

FUN:

Let There Be Dragons

Dragons and FUN? Sounds like a perfect product to me. This product is a first for Easter as Lush haven’t released limited FUNs for an Easter range before. This FUN contains Sicilian Lemon Oil, Bergamot Oil and Jasmine Absolute. If you’re not sure what FUN is then think of it as a multipurpose bathing product. You can pinch bits off and mould them into cute characters (I mean why not pinch some off and create a Dragon), use it as shampoo, soap or as a bubble bar. This FUN shares the same scent as Dragons Egg Bath Bomb. I love this scent its so fresh and uplifting due to the mixture of Lemon and Bergamot whilst the Jasmine is in the background just ensuring that the two citrus oils do their best within this scent. I think that this would be amazing bar to use when its a bit warm and Summer is in full spring. If you love citrus scents or like to create an experience like never before in the bath then I would definitely recommend checking Let There Be Dragons out. Priced at £9.50.

I Believe In Unicorns

Do you believe in Unicorns? This FUN contains Bergamot, Davana and Ylang Ylang Oils and Jasmine Absolute. This FUN shares the same scent as the Unicorn Poop Bath Bomb. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this scent when I read about it on the website but when I smelt it in store, I actually really enjoyed it. The Davana and Bergamot have joined together to create a quite fruity scent whilst the Jasmine and Ylang Ylang play alongside them to add a sort of unique delicate floral note to the product. If you love anything that has a floral kick to it then I think you will really enjoy this FUN. Priced at £9.50.

Lips:

Lush Lip Butter

We all need to keep our lips soft and supple even in the Spring. This product contains Fair Trade Organic Shea Butter, Fenugreek Absolute Brazilian Orange and Tagetes Oils, Vanilla and Sesame Seed Absolutes and Carob Resinoid. I love anything that is going to help the lips. The scent of this reminds me of a sort of deep maple scent which is probably from the Carob Resinoid The Vanilla also adds to this. If you like scents that are food orientated then you will love this. I have started to just put this into my bag to use whilst I’m on the go and I absolutely love it. If you are in need of some nourishment to the lips then I’d definitely recommend checking this out. Priced at £5.

Taking The Dynasty Just Like Fallon Carrington | My Friend Does My Makeup

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new post. A while ago, after the Trinity Leeds event, I thought that I would let Abbey paint my face, so I thought that I would tell you all how we achieved this look which is shown below.

A person wearing gold eyeshadow, a dark lip, great brown contour, black mascara, a black snapback and black leather jacket

Before I get into the details of the look, I wanted to say that, if you've read my Gender post then, you will know about how I feel as a person and with my look, therefore, I'm slowly wanting to get into more of the femme side of my aesthetic. I'm slowly experimenting a bit with both my mas and femme aesthetics, and honestly, I'm slowly loving getting to grips with makeup and realising that it can portray whatever you want. This look is inspired by Fallon Carrington (Elizabeth Gilllies) in the CW Dynasty, mainly, because I relate to Fallon's character in many ways including, storming into a room and shooting a room up because she's annoyed.

Products used for this look include:

Cleanser: Lush Dark Angels

Toner: Simple Kind to Skin Facial Toner Soothing

Moisturiser: The Body Shop Vitamin E Gel Moisture Cream

Primer: Benefit Porefessional

Foundation: NYX Stay Matte but Not Flat (Alabaster) & Lightening Fluid: NYX Pro Foundation Mixer (White) (Primark beauty sponge)

Setting Powder: Rimmel London Clear Complexion/Teint Radieux (Transparent) (Powder Brush)

Eyebrows: George, Asda. The Tamer (Brunette) (Morphe Brush MB29)

Contour: Rimmel London, Kate Moss Collection (Coral Glow) (sculpting brush)

Blush: Rimmel London (Pink Rose) (blush brush)

Highlight: Jeffree Star (Ice Cold) (Morphe Brush B8)

Eyelook: Morphe 24G Grand Glam Palette.including Creamer, Baked and Crystal

Eyeliner: NYX Matt Liquid Liner (Black)

Mascara: L’ORÉAL Paris Lash Paradise (Black)

Lips: Jeffree Star Lip Scrub Spearmint
Jeffree Star Liquid Lip (Unicorn Blood)

Setting Spray: e.l.f Mist & Set

How To Get The Look

Step 1: Prep the face via using your usual cleanser, toner, and, moisturiser. Makeup will go on and stay on longer on a prepped face.

2: Apply a generous amount of primer. The best way to do this is via your hands just because you can get into the crooks of your skin easier than some brushes. Applying a primer with your fingers makesit easier to ensure that it goes to the pores, as, some primers just kind of sit on the skin.

3: Apply foundation to the primed face. We used a whitening drops product with the foundation, just because, I'm quite pale and applying whitening drops to a foundation shade makes it easier to get a perfect match and eliminates a bit of the yellow tone. I used a Matte based foundation, just because, I know that Matte looks better when it comes to pictures, but experiment and figure out which formula works for you.

4: Set the foundation in with translucent powder via using a powder brush of your choice and letting the powder bake on the face for five to ten minutes. (If you don't know what baking means then it's a term that has been used by many in the beauty industry and drag community, to describe, that the warmth of your face bakes the powder, which then, helps to set the base makeup on your face.

5: Brush the eyebrow hairs in the same direction as each other and then fill in with the product and then blend with your natural brow hairs.

A large rectangular box with a bright lid that has streaks of different shades of brown on it with Tamer in bold thick white font with eyebrow kit in smaller white font underneath on a bright background.

6: Contour where you need to define. For me, its my forehead, chin and cheeks, but for you, it might be different. A sculpting brush will be your best friend when it comes to contouring.

A rectangular palette filled with a light brown contour in one small rectangle, a darker brown in another rectangle and a bright highlight in another in a clear lid with kate moss written in pink cursive font with rimmel in bold font above it in the same size on a bright background.

7: Blush time. Apply this with a blush brush. We used a light Rose  colour with Peachy undertones as it works best with the shade of my skin. The best way to apply brush, in my opinion, is to smile, find the apples of your cheeks and apply and blend.

A square pot filled with a bright pink blush with a clear plastic lid with Rimmel on the front of it on a bright background.

8: Time to shine for the gods. Now obviously, highlight isn't just for blinding, its also to enhance a soft look, but I'm gay as hell, and I wanted to be seen from outerspace so we packed it on. We used Skin Frost, which has been made infamous, via it's creator, Jeffree Star. I was hesitant about using it but I loved it, not only because it shined bright, but also because it had a creamy formula to it as I've found some highlighters to be really drying on my already dry skin.

9: Eyeshadow time! Now, me and Abbey spent ages deciding on what look to go for... As I wanted to give a little nod to Fallon and her luxurious lifestyle, I wanted to go for light look with a metallic statement to it We started off with a transition shade (Creamer), then blended Baked in with a Morphe brush. Side note: Morphe brushes are the best brushes. No, that's not an ad. I've never really understood why they get the love they do, but now, I definitely do. After blending, we applied Crystal on top with a finger due to it being a different texture to the other two.

Three circles, one white, one silver and one brown on a black rectangfula box on a bright background.

10: Carrying on with the eyes, it was time for liquid eyeliner... Yup, you heard me right, and yes, I did gulp when I saw the liquid liner. My eyes were being a little watery, so we thought it would be best to stick to just the top lashes but I absolutely love the colour of the NYX Liquid Liner.

A black elongated cylindrical tube with NYX in bright white bold font with eyeliner and black in bold smaller font on a bright background

11: Same goes for mascara, we tried to coat the bottom a bit without screwing up the whole look. The top ones were coated easily. Weirdly, I have quite long eyelashes already so one coat was enough.

12: Painting the lips! Now, I tried out Jeffree Star Lip Scrub and a Liquid Lip (which I loved the colour of by the way), but I had an allergic reaction to my lips the day after. I'm not sure whether it was the scrub or liquid lip, or my piercing not agreeing to one of them, but it was a massive shame because I loved this colour, to the point where I'd be fine with it being on my lips till the end of time. We then overdrew the lips a bit, because well I want to have equal sized lips instead of a thin as hell top lip and a plump and pierced bottom lip.

13: FInal step. If you're reading or trying this look out, then, give yourself a round of applause. We applied setting spray, got a beauty blender and tapped down the water marks and well, took pictures and gossiped before Abbey went home.
