Put The Lime In The Coconut | Lush Lime Bounty Body Butter Review

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. I thought that today, I would talk to you all about a brand new product from Lush that I have been loving at the moment.

Before shops were allowed to re-open, Lush released the Lime Bounty Body Butter. Sadly, I wasn't able to get it during those times, but now that shops have re-opened, I headed to the lovely Lush White Rose store and finally got my hands on it.

List Of Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Extract, Fair Trade Shea Butter, Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Murumuru Butter, Propylene Glycol, Perfume, Stearic Acid, CupuaƧu Butter, Triethanolamine, Persian Lime Oil, Grapefruit Oil, Lemon Myrtle Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, *Citral, *Geraniol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Colour 45350, Colour 42090.

The scent of this product is sensational. The astringent Lime hits you right in the face when you open the tub which just makes you feel awake and ready to get on with your day. The Grapefruit and Lemon Oils blend together to help uplift the Lime Oil and round out the scent making it zingy and uplifting to the nose. Once the Lime has lovingly hit you in the face, the Coconut slowly comes through. This Coconut isn't an overpowering artificial scent, which sometimes appears in cosmetic products, but instead is, a well rounded slightly sweet Coconut which contrasts amazing with the luscious lime scent that is awaiting to have a party on your body.

The texture of this Body Butter is quite intriguing. To start off with, when you open the lid, you are met with what looks like Coconut Shavings, or, Desiccated Coconut, however, it is actually moisturising chunks of Shea Butter which have been made to look like strands of Coconut. When you scoop a bit of this beautiful Butter out of the tub, it is quite thick. Thick to the point that I decided to tip the tub upside down onto the lid, and nothing came out. Due to this, I expected the butter to be quite thick and although nourishing to the skin, a product that would take a long while to soak into the skin. However, this was not the case. The texture is slightly thick when scooped out of the tub, but as soon as it is applied to the skin, it becomes a ultra hydrating, instant sinking into the skin Body Butter. I absolutely adore that. I have dry skin, but sometimes waiting forever for a product to sink in just isn't for me, so, having the best of both worlds is the best thing ever for me. This Butter left my skin feeling soft, supple and hydrated all day long without any of the greasy feeling that some body products have which again is amazing for me as that residue sort of feeling can leave me feeling a bit off when I need to use my hands and such.

Would I buy this again? Definitely! This is a 9.5/10 for me. Why a 9.5? For me, I kind of wish the chunks at the top were kind of more mixed through... Having all of the shreds on top makes me not want to use it as it looks so pretty. If the chunks were more mixed through then I could enjoy the product and the chunks that little bit more. This product is priced at £7, which is affordable for a Body Butter as some other cosmetic companies charge doubler to triple for a Body Butter. Saying that, if you aren't a fan of Lime, or are allergic to Lime, like my friend Abbey is, then this product sadly isn't for you.

DOAML: Gorilla Fragrances: Dear John

Meow!

Welcome to another DOAML post. Yeah, this series is slowly starting up again... If theres anything that you would like me to review from Lush or talk about skin wise then please let me know in the comments section down below!

Today I am going to talk to you guys about Dear John as I bought it a couple of weeks ago and it feels fitting to talk to you guys about the perfumes that are available at Lush as I don't think that they get enough recognition.

Dear John is a perfume that is sold at Lush. All perfumes that are sold at Lush are under the Gorilla Perfume brand. I don't know the exact story behind Gorilla Perfumes but I know that Lush created Gorilla Perfumes as it's own brand to compete with high street perfumes and so that they wouldn't be just sold at Lush stores from what I know. I could be wrong but I'm sure thats somewhat the story. Gorilla Perfumes have their own store within Islington, London and have a full on gallery within the Lush Oxford Street superstore.

The best way to tell you the scents that make up Dear John is to just list all of the scents instead of saying this is the base note as I feel like they change a bit depending on your skin so it's best to just say. Dear John contains Cedarwood, Coffee and Tobacco which gives it a deep smoky scent, Lime to give it a bit of a citrus kick, Pine, Clove, Coriander/Cilantro depending on where you are within the world and Vetivert.

The perfume comes in many forms but I decided to get the body mist as honestly its the best amount for your money as a 150g body mist bottle comes in at £13 which is pretty amazing. There is also a solid version for £7 and other bottles for various prices.

When you spritz this, you instantly get the smokiness of the coffee/cedarwood/tobacco/vetivert but when it settles you get more of a citrusy scent from the Lime. It's such a great scent for all year round but I like it most within either Spring or Autumn due to the smoky-sweetness of the product. You also get a sort of soapy hint when it has settled which I kind of like because I've never had a fragrance that did that before and it just makes you stand out when theres a lot of scents going on in the room. I also love that the scent stays on the skin for quite a while and if needed you could buy the solid just to top up on the go as the bottle is quite clunky when it comes to storing in your bag.

I would give this a 9.5/10. The only problem that I have found with it is that the other bottles are very pricey and if this wasn't the case then I would have every type of this fragrance within the confinements of my beauty drawer! I love the sweet smokiness and I love how the Coffee and Tobacco isn't off putting but adds more to the smokiness instead of being so strong that you can't smell anything else except Coffee and smoke.

Have you smelt this within a Lush store? What do you think? Have you tried any of the Gorilla Fragrances that are on offer within Lush? Let me know in the comments section down below!

Diary Of A Meowing Lushie : Lime Pastille Bath Oil Review

Meow!

So I know that I haven't done anything Lush based for a few weeks so I thought I would come back with the Lush series via an Oxford Street exclusive. I may stop the videos and just do posts for my lush series. Would that be a good idea? Let me know in the comments below!

Today I am going to be talking about the Lime Pastille Bath Oil which you can only get via going to the Oxford Street store. You may also be able to get it on the website but I'm not entirely sure.

This oil is like the other oils in the fact that they consist of an Jojoba, Shea Butter and Coconut Oil base which gives the oil a very luxurious and creamy feel when you first touch it. This also gives softening and nourishing properties to the bath when it is dropped into the water. The product also contains Lime Oil which obviously gives the oil its primary lime scent. The product also contains Lemon Oil which makes the product more citrus based which enhances the lime scent.

Unlike a ballistic (bath bomb) a bath oil doesn't give any surprises to the bath such as confetti or anything like that but instead gives a nourishing feel to the bath. They do bath melts at most stores but these bath oils from Oxford St are different due to them being more compact, cheaper and more vibrant which makes them a great alternative to a ballistic if you want something a bit more soothing to the skin.

When you first drop this ball into water it doesn't really do much which may seem a bit disappointing but give it time and you will see the effects. The oil leaks out of the product and slowly melts into the water giving the bath a great distinct product. As this kinda takes a while, I would either get some products such as face masks or whatnot ready whilst this is happening. As well as the colour melting into the water, the scent erupts from the bath giving a strong scent to the bathroom. The scent and colour latch onto the water which then sinks into your skin whilst you bathe.

The lime scent is slightly strong but its not to the point where it is overwhelming which is great for when you want something which will motivate you but not to the point where it is quite nauseating. The Lime works quite well with the Lemon Oil to create a bright zesty scent which will make you want to get up within the morning and do things especially when it is cold. There is also a lustre-y sugary coating which makes it look like a fruit pastille which some people will want to eat but its not edible. I think from what I remember makes a slightly shimmer effect within the water but not too much to make you not want to buy it again.

Overall I would give this a 9/10 mainly because of it being an Ox St exclusive and the size of it. The scent is amazing and uplifting and it nourishes the skin really well but I wouldn't go all the way to London just to buy another, It is a great product to have something in the morning and not use a body butter afterwards which may save on time and a bit of money. The colour is so PopArt inspired and just makes you look at it and watch where the swirls have incorporated into the water and just think about things. I would buy it again if it was on the website or at the local Lush.

I hope that you have enjoyed this Diary Of A Meowing Lushie post and I hope to see you again for another blog post. Have you used this proudct before? Let me know in the comments below. I hope to see you next time for another blog post!
