When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Some Lovely Lemon Lush Products With Them! | Lush Kitchen July Shower Box 2025

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I recently received my Lush Kitchen July Shower Box and I thought that today I would talk to you all about the contents of the box and my thoughts on the box as a whole!

The theme of Julys box is simply when life gives you Lemons. Some people decide to make Lemonade out of Lemons or a gorgeous Lemon Drizzle Cake but Lush have decided to turn their Lemons  into Lemon scented cosmetic products!

A car photo of a square light brown box containing some white ecopops, a syringe plastic shower gel bottle filled with yellow shower gel and a black with a yellow rectangular label with lemon shower gel Lush in green font next to a square slab of light yellow soap with yellow bits of lemon zest running throughout it next to a black cylindrical pot filled with slightly tinted yellow but still white body conditioner with a circular black lid and a circular yellow label with Lemony footer body conditioner Lush in green font next to a clear plastic cylindrical tub filled with yellow and green facial cleanser with a clear circular red and a yellow circular label with lemon aid facial cancer Lush in green font next to a small cylindrical glass jar filled with yellow sugar scrub with a black circular lid and a yellow circular label with nibble lip scrub Lush in green font with a yellow and green cardboard sleeve behind the box with when life gives you lemons Lush in yellow and green font on a light brown rectangular table on a bright background

Lemon Shower Gel

Ingredients:

Glycerine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Irish Moss Infusion (Chondrus crispus), Water (Aqua), Fresh Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum), Lauryl Betaine, *Limonene, Perfume, Myrrh Resinoid (Commiphora myrrha), Lemongrass Oil (Cymbopogon citratus), Bergamot Oil (Citrus Aurantium bergamia), Gardenia Extract (Gardenia jasminoides), Carrageenan Extract (Chondrus crispus), Citral, Linalool.

I have been longing for a Lemon centric Shower Gel from Lush for a while so as soon as I heard that this Kitchen Box was dropping I knew that I had to have it for the Shower Gel alone! I used to adore the Refresher Shower Jelly which to me was the epitome of Lemon Curd in shower form when it was available to purchase from Lush stores.

The blend of Myrrh, Lemongrass and Bergamot creates a beautiful scent. The combination of these three different oils creates a scent that reminds me of the smell of freshly cut Lemons on a hot Summer day with a slightly sharp kick in the background from the Lemongrass. I was a bit unsure on how the Myrrh would smell in regards to creating a fresh citrus scent but to me it helps to create a slightly fresh slightly woody background note that helps the Lemongrass and Bergamot be the stars of the show in this Shower Gel. If you are been loving Lush for a while now then you may remember this scent by a different name. lemon smelt that contained chunks of cocoa Butter on the top of the gel to help nourish the skin. Although Lemon doesn't contain the cocoa Butter it does contain Glycerine that is known to provide the skin with plenty of moisture  and nourishment.

I have been absolutely loving using this so far and could definitely see this reappearing at Lush in the form of a seasonal range or this time next year as a part of a fully fledged Summer Range. If you're listening Lush then please re-release Refresher Shower Jelly whilst you're at it if you are releasing a Summer Range. Thanks!

Lemony Flutter Body Conditioner

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Fair Trade Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis), Glycerine, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), Stearic Acid, Cetearyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Sicilian Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum), Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia), Tagetes Oil (Tagetes minuta), Chamomile Blue Oil (Matricaria chamomilla), Citral, Coumarin, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume.

We all need our bodies to be soft and supple even during the hot summer months!

Lemony Flutter Body Conditioner does just that! If you're unsure on what a body conditioner is then imagine a sort of in-shower body butter that you wash off before hopping out of the bath/shower instead of applying after and having to wait forever for it to absorb into the skin!

Lemony Flutter contains Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Fair Trade Organic Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter which combine to create a lovely base for the Body Conditioner that will moisturise and soften the skin when you apply it in the tub or shower!

Lemony Flutter contains Sicilian Lemon Oil, Lavender Oil, Chamomile Blue Oil alongside some other goodies which combine to create a lovely sharp citrus scent with a soft herbal background. This also shares the same scent as the Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter.

When I used this in the shower, the conditioner glided on my skin and the sharp citrus scent engulfed my entire bathroom. I left it on for a couple of minutes massaged it into my skin and rinsed it off to reveal soft smooth glowing skin. I loved the scent of this whilst I was enjoying my pamper session in the bathroom.

The Lavender and Chamomile came out a little bit more post shower. I tend to be a bit hesitant with some Lavender and chamomile scented products as it can come across a bit too much and always reminds me a bit of my local swimming baths.  (Thinking about it now, this might be why I stray away from products such as Dream Cream until the Winter period of the year...) I was a touch surprised by this because I was expecting the Lemon to stay as strong as it did when first applying it to my skin but I did still enjoy the body conditioner as a whole as the citrus scent that was left behind stopped the Lavender and Chamomile from being too much to use for myself personally.

If you have quite dry skin and feel like nothing is moisturising it enough then I think that the body conditioners at Lush will help your skin severely!

A zoomed in photo of a small cylindrical black pot filled with slightly yellow yet still white thick body conditioner with a circular black lid with a yellow circular label with lemony flutter body conditioner lush in green and black font next to a half of a yellow lemon on a bright background

Nibble Lip Scrub

Ingredients:

Caster Sugar, Fair Trade Organic Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis), Glycerine, Sicilian Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum), *Limonene, Citric Acid, Citral, Geraniol.

We all need a lip scrub to keep our lips soft and supple for all that summer loving!

For this Kitchen Box, Lush have turned a few Lemons into a brand new flavour of their iconic Lip Scrub thats full of zesty goodness! This lip scrub contains Caster Sugar which creates the base of this gorgeous product and helps to make lips soft and gorgeous. Sicilian Lemon Oil and Citric Acid blend together to create a super sharp Lemon flavour and the Organic Jojoba Oil helps to moisturise lips which I adore as some lip scrubs from other brands in the past have left my lips really dry and irritated!

Nibble does only contain Sicilian Lemon Oil but sometimes less is best as it allows the Sicilian Lemon Oil to really shine bright in this lip scrub. I'm sure by now you can tell that I love anything Lemon so a severely bright and sharp Lemon flavoured Lip Scrubs is truly the dream for me.

A zoomed in photo of a small glass cylindrical jar full of lemons n yellow sugar scrub with a black circular lid with a yellow circular label with nibble lip scrub lush in green and black font next to a yellow lemon half on a bright background

Sexy Peel Soap

Ingredients:

Water (Aqua), Rapeseed Oil; Coconut Oil (Brassica napus; Cocos nucifera), Propylene Glycol, Cornstarch (Zea mays), Fresh Lemon Peel (Citrus limonum), Fresh Orange Peel (Citrus aurantium dulcis), *Limonene, Fresh Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum), Fresh Orange Juice (Citrus aurantium dulcis), Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Fresh Lime Peel (Citrus aurantifolia), Lime Oil (Citrus aurantifolia), Perfume, Grapefruit Oil (Citrus paradisi), Fresh Lime Juice (Citrus aurantifolia), Sicilian Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum), Glycerine, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Bicarbonate, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate, Citral, Geraniol, Linalool.

Lush is bringing sexy back! Sexy Peel that is!

Sexy Peel used to be an utterly zingy staple at Lush stores and I adored it. Every time I went into a Lush store I would always find it on the shelf and make sure I gave it a sniff as it always just perked my day up and made me want to enjoy the rest of my day even if it was a busy weekend in the middle of Leeds city centre where people would rush to get somewhere , bump into you and not apologise.

Sexy Peel being a fun spin on the term zesty peel helps to showcase not only the oils of the fruits that are used in this soap and on many other cosmetic products but also the zest/peel of the same fruits too!

Sexy Peel contains Sicilian Lemon Oil, Lime Oil and Grapefruit Oil alongside Fresh Lime Peel, Fresh Lemon Peel and Fresh Orange Peel which blend together to create a truly zingy soap that will perk you up no matter what time of the day it is or how bad your day has been going.

I've been using this Soap since the box arrived and I know that I am going to be truly saddened when I finish this slice of Soap!

A zoomed in photo of a yellow square piece of soap with orange green and yellow pieces of zest run throughout it next to a open slice of yellow lemon on a bright abound

Lemon Aid Cleanser

Ingredients:

Kaolin, Glycerine, Ground Almonds (Prunus dulcis), Tahini (Sesamum indicum), Fresh Carrot (Daucus carota sativa), Water (Aqua), Fresh Lemon Zest (Citrus Limonum), Propylene Glycol, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao), Sicilian Lemon Oil (Citrus limonum), Carrageenan Extract (Chondrus crispus), Limonene, Colour 15985:1, Colour 19140:1.

When life gives you lemons, make Lemon Aid!

Lush have decided to turn their lemonade into a gorgeous Lemon Aid Fresh Facial Cleanser!

This cleanser contains Ground Almond that help to scrub away dirt and grime alongside Kaolin which is known for its oil absorbing properties. Lemon Aid also contains Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter to ensure that the cleanser itself isn't too stripping for the face!

Lemon Aid also contains Fresh Carrot which is known for its Vitamin C properties which in turn helps to give the skin a subtle glow that makes you look like you're radiant from within! This facial cleanser also contains Sicilian Lemon Oil which creates a gorgeous punchy Lemon scent that will help to wake you up on those days in the summer where getting up even feels a little bit too much!

I have seen that a few people have been a bit confused when receiving this facial cleanser due to the jelly layer on top courtesy of Carrageenan Extract. I have seen people use it as an eye mask post cleansing the face, I have seen people shredding it up and mixing it and many other ways of using it. My favourite when it comes to the Jelly layer is to peel it off the top of the Ground Almond and Kaolin base of Lemon Aid and use it as a Jelly Cleanser. Lush have created Carrageenan based facial products before so in my mind that made the most sense. I have been enjoying using the jelly cleanser layer alongside the scrubby cleanser.  (Let me know how you've been using the jelly layer!) I do get that it does seem a bit weird for a cleanser to come with a jelly layer and maybe Lish could explain why but as I say above as someone who uses a lot of cleansers I just took it to be a sort of jelly cleanser.

I have enjoyed  incorporating Lemon Aid into my skin care routine especially since we've had a heatwave in the UK. The ground almonds have helped to keep my skin feeling smooth. Ive loved how the Carrot gives me a glow.

Since the beginning of the year, I have become a bit of a glow fiend when it comes to my skincare regime. For example, I do use Bright and Beautiful from Lush which contains 10% Vitamin C which if you're looking for a more vibrant glow to the skin compared to Lemon Aid then it might be worth looking into and trying out.

I do think that they could specify the situation with the Carrageenan and the jelly layer as I think it would make using it a bit easier for some of those who have subscribed and received this Kitchen Box but on the whole I think that this would be a great product during the summer months in Lush stores!

A zoomed in photo of a clear cylindrical plastic tub filled with yellow cleanser with a blue jelly layer on top with a clear lid with a yellow circular label with lemon aid fresh facial cleanser lush in green and black font on a bright background

Overall, as you can tell, I really enjoy this Kitchen Box. There's a variety of products to use for the face and the body and the products all contain a sharp lemon scent in one way or another that make you want to either drink cocktails and bathe in the sun or feel refreshed after a long gruelling week. I adore Lemons in many ways as I have stated throughout this post but honestly I wasn't expecting to enjoy this Kitchen Box to the point that I need this Box to become a Summer mini range at Lush alongside Refreher Shower Jelly (pretty please Lush!)

Saying Boo To Boring Bath Time! | Lush Boo Basket (GIFTED)

 Hey everyone!

I was recently kindly gifted a strange and spooky Boo Basket from Lush and I thought that today I would talk to you all about it.

Who doesn’t love all things Halloween and Spooky Season? Lush  have released their Halloween 2024 Range which includes a plethora of bath, shower and other beauty goodies that will help you to get in the mood to be spooky! This Halloween, Lush is encouraging everyone to get freaky in the bathroom and to be your true authentic strange self no matter what!

A zoomed in photo of a light brown straw woven circular basket filled with green eco pops alongside a square green, grey and white bath bomb representing a frankensteins head next to a circular white and black bubble bar with indented features to represent a vampires face next to a white ghost shaped bath bomb with indents for eyes and a rainbow of blue, green, purple and pink on the side next to a cylindrical plastic bottle filled with red shower gel with a black cylindrical lid and a black rectangular label that has a qr code and scan me for scares shower gel lush in white font with a black rectangular card behind it all with keep it strange lush in white font on a bright background

Handwoven Basket:

These handwoven baskets are made from organically grown sisal fibre from the agave plant, and are handmade in Kenya. Lush is working in collaboration with The Basket Room which is a business bringing together women's basket-weaving and showcasing traditional weaving and dying techniques.

Both sizes of this beautiful basket can be used to curate your own gift such as a personalised Boo Basket for a loved one, this can also be used as a great container for any brand new Lush products that you may buy to treat yourself during the cold weather that we are having right now in the UK or this basket can be used around your home to give houseplants a new lease of life!

Honestly I didn’t know that the material of this basket came from the agave plant. I was really surprised! As bad as this sounds, the main things that come from agave that I know of are Agave Syrup and Tequila…

I love this basket! I know that I’ll be using this basket for many things such as storing all my Lush products and for when I need some storage for when it comes to travelling.

Frankenstein Bath Bomb (£6)

Sometimes Monsters need baths too!

Ingredients:

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Alcohol Denat., Perfume, Galbanum Oil, Pine Oil, Geranium Oil, Fir Balsam Resinoid, Water (Aqua), Cornstarch, Titanium Dioxide, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Eugenol, Limonene, Colour 47005:1, Colour 47005, Colour 77499, Colour 45350, Colour 59040, Colour 42090:2, Colour 19140, Colour 19140:1

This Frankenstein Bath Bomb contains Galbanum, Geranium and Pine Oils alongside Fir Balsam Resinoid. When I saw this mixture of ingredients for a Halloween product I was quite intrigued as it screams Green and Spring to me however when I smelt it I was very much put in my place that this is definitely a scent made for Halloween. To me, this Bath Bomb smells like you’ve walked into a forest, plucked some leaves and took it home to make into a concoction to help you during the cold months. This scent is very green but it’s not Spring at all. The Fir Balsam gives a sort of woodsy note that compliments the herbal notes so well. Weirdly I get a bit of a Bay scent from this which may be from the Fir Balsam too? If you are a fan of Toil and Trouble from Lush then I think that you will enjoy this Bath Bomb a lot. I can’t wait to use it whilst the outside is dark and grey and I can’t feel like a true luxurious forest monster.

Bubble Lugosi Bubble Bar (£8)

Bubble Lugosi is back with a bang but be careful or they’ll get you with those fangs!

Ingredients

Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Luminescent Zinc Sulfide, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Bergamot Oil, Olibanum Oil, Glycerine, Water, Cornstarch, Titanium Dioxide, Tragacanth Gum, Talc, Alcohol Denat., Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Colour 77499, Colour 15850:1, Colour 17200, Colour 42053, Colour 77491.

Bubble Lugosi is a Bubble Bar that pays homage to Bela Lugosi. Bela Lugosi was a Hungarian-American actor known for playing Count Dracula in the 1931 film ‘Dracula’.

This Bubble Bar contains Bergamot Oil and Olibanum Oil. These two ingredients combine to me to create a truly fruity yet deep resinous scent that screams Autumn to me. To me, it smells a bit like the smell on your hands after you’ve spent the day picking various fruits such as Blackberries and Plums. If you are a big fan of Lush then you may recognise the scent of Bubble Lugosi if you have smelt it via the Soap Of Sultana/Sultana Range from Lush.

Fun fact about this Bubble Bar. This Bubble Bar contains Luminescent Zinc Sulfide which means that this Bibble Bar can glow in the dark. You can do this via charging the Bubble Bar in sunlight to make it glow.  I can’t wait to use this in the dark for an ultimate spooky bath!

Ghostie Bath Bomb (£5)

I mean you can’t have a boo basket without a little boo. This ghost is definitely saying boo to boring baths!

Ingredients

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Popping Candy, Titanium Dioxide, Lemongrass Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil, Persian Lime Oil, Cream of Tartar, Water (Aqua), Talc, Cornstarch, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Dipropylene Glycol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Propylene Glycol, Tin Oxide, Citral, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Colour 42090:2, Colour 77491, Colour 42090, Colour 45410:2, Colour 45410, Colour 45410:1, Colour 15850:1, Colour 17200, Colour 77499.

This bath bomb not only looks amazing but smells amazing too as this little Ghost contains Lemongrass Oil, Sicilian Lemon Oil and Persian Lime Oil. This combination of Oils creates a zesty uplifting scent that will get anyone and everyone feeling amazing during the cold and spooky days. This cute ghost also contains Popping Candy and a rainbow of colours on the side of them which helps to create truly amazing bath art! I love this Bath Bomb and can’t wait to use it before a day of going out and being strange!

Scan Me For Scares Shower Gel (from £9)

Better lock your bathroom door before you treat yourself to this spooky Shower Gel!

Ingredients

Glycerine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Cranberry Infusion, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Calcium Lactate Gluconate, Fine Sea Salt, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Corn Syrup, Lactic Acid, Cedarwood Oil, Vetivert Oil, Almond Essential Oil, Water (Aqua), Titanium Dioxide, Propylene Glycol, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Silica, Tin Oxide, Limonene, Linalool, Colour 17200, Colour 45410:2, Colour 14700, Colour 77491.

This Shower Gel contains Fine Sea Salt. Cranberry Infusion, Corn Syrup, Cedarwood, Vetivert and Almond Essential Oils. This to me smells like a fruity Cake that’s topped with Marzipan that’s being sliced up for everyone to share at a Party! If you have been a fan of Lush for a few years then you may remember the Buche De Noel Cleanser which has been released for Lush’s Christmas 2024 Range that shares the same scent as Scan Me For Scares Shower Gel.

This Shower Gel is inspired by the famous Shower scene from the Hitchcock  film ‘Psycho’ via the ingredients. When Psycho  and other horror films was being made, the film industry used a mixture of Cranberry Juice and Corn Syrup to create fake blood. Lush have paid homage to this by including a Cranberry Infusion which gives this Shower Gel a blood like colour and Corn Syrup to give this shower gel a lovely texture.

This Shower Gel contains a QR on the label. When you scan this label, it will send you to an audio experience that Lush have created to go along with the Shower Gel to create a truly terrifying experience that will make you want to ensure that you’ve locked that bathroom door…

Thanks again to the Community Team at Lush for sending me this amazing Boo Basket full of Lush goodies. I am super grateful that Lush kindly sent me these! I’ve noticed that all of these are big nods to films and tv shows that scream spooky vibes which as a massive media fanatic makes me even extra happy! I can’t wait to get freaky and enjoy an amazingly spooky bath time! I am travelling soon for a few days so I’ll definitely be taking Scan Me For Scares with me so I can have my own thrilling Shower experience at the Hotel!

Enjoying The Fresh Fan Favourites Of August In The Tub | Lush Kitchen August 2024 Box

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I recently grabbed the August Lush Kitchen Subscription Box from Lush Leeds Box and I thought that today I would talk to you all about it!

If you’re unaware of the Kitchen Subscription Box then it is a monthly subscription box that contains retro, exclusive and well loved Lush products. In the past, you used to get three products voted by those subscribed and two products on average chosen by the amazing people at Lush as a surprise but now the Kitchen Box usually contains five products that are usually centralised around a theme.

This month, the wonderful Finley chose five amazing products centralised around fresh fan favourites.  Retro products loved by the Lush community. Products that the Lush a community have yearned to return in some way shape or form! If you are unaware of Finley then Finley runs the wonderful Lush Discord Channel and is the face of the Lush Reveals Videos on YouTube which are focused on telling you all the exciting upcoming ranges and products from Lush such as brand new collaborations, new all year round products and seasonal ranges.

I am known to be forgetful and as the Kitchen Box has a cut off date for subscribing I normally have a tendency to forget and then remember after the cut off date meaning that I can’t get the Kitchen Box normally. However, I heard that some Kitchen Boxes were going into stores so I emailed Lush Leeds Spa and thankfully they were so nice to reserve a box for me. I can’t thank them enough for doing this to me.

A white square box with a card in the top that says community favs in red font with a plethora of lush products inside showing to the camera including a spherical orange and yellow bath bomb, a small black cykdiencual tube of perfume with s I over cap a shower gel clinical plastic bottle filled with red shower gel with a black lid and a black label with Prince Charming shower gel lush and two cykdiencuao plastic tubs, one filled with body lotion with a circular one that says flying fox lotion lush in white font one filled with a deep blue purple shower jelly with a black circular label that says happy for sad shower jelly lush in white font on a bright background

Prince Charming Shower Gel

This Shower Gel contains Marshmallow Root and Vanilla Pod Infusion, Glycerine, Grapefruit Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Geranium Oil and Fresh Pomegranate Juice.

In my opinion, this smells like a fruity cocktail due to the Grapefruit and Pomegranate Juice with a sort of Vanilla sweetness undertone due to the Marshmallow and Vanilla Pod Infusion. The Sandalwood and Geranium aren’t super noticeable but to me they do help to round out the scent as a whole helping the fruity notes jump off the page whilst the Sandalwood to me helps to round out the Vanilla notes and ensure that it’s not too sickly sweet.

Lemon Days and Ginger Beer Bath Bomb

This bath bomb contains Ginger Oil, Mimosa Absolute, Sicilian Red Mandarin Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Geranium Oil, Bergamot Oil,  Lemon Peel Powder and Powdered Ginger.

Lemon Days and Ginger Beer Bath Bomb shares its scent with the iconic Lush Ginger Perfume. If you haven’t smelt Ginger from Lush before then imagine an intense Ginger fragrance with a background of woody and fruity notes which will make anyone near you ask what fragrance you are wearing. This bath bomb takes the iconic scent and adds a pep of Lemon to it to evoke the fragrance and feeling of enjoying a Lemon and Ginger Tea when you’re feeling under the weather. I adore anything Ginger and anything Lemon so combining the two into a bath bomb that I can enjoy is heaven. I have a massive stash of Lemon and Ginger Tea and love to have a cup when the weather is cold outside! I have been known to even add fresh Ginger and Lemon to my cup before drinking to amp up the flavour. I haven’t used this bath bomb just yet but will do after writing this blog post! Honestly I can’t wait to use this! I also have the Ginger Shower Gel, Solid Perfume and Liquid Perfume so I can’t wait to pair them with this Bath Bomb!

Happy For S.A.D Shower Jelly

This Jelly contains Glycerine, Fresh White Lily Infusion, Fair Trade Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Carrageenan Extract, Neroli Oil, Grapefruit Oil and Sicilian Red Mandarin Oil.

I was unsure on what to think of this scent. I have never smelt it before and have heard so many varied reviews and responses to this product. I was expecting it to be Neroli heavy with a touch of Grapefruit as Neroli is known to help reduce stress, anxiety and depression but it was the other way around. I adore the combination of citrus and neroli in this jelly as it is truly uplifting.

This Shower Jelly has been created to help those who suffer with Seasonal Affective Disorder. Honestly, as someone who suffers with S.A.D and was intrigued by the scent of this product, this product was a big reason of why I bought the box. As someone who has an eye condition that is affected by darkness, early dark nights affect me massively mentally and physically so I am hoping that this Shower Jelly helps. I do love all things Autumn except the dark nights and it being a pain for me to get anything done as soon as it gets dark outside.

Flying Fox Body Lotion

This Body Lotion contains Almond Oil, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Glycerine, Cypress Oil, Jasmine Oil, Palmarosa Oil and Ylang Ylang Oil.

This Body Lotion shares the same scent as the Flying Fox Shower Gel  which has returned as a part of the Lush Remind/Discon Wall that is in selected stores and online as well as the Godiva Shampoo Bar and the Lust Perfume from Lush. Flying Fox smells like a seductive Jasmine forward scent with powdery undertones coming from the Palmarosa and Ylang Ylang.

The Body Lotion itself is amazing. Not too heavy and greasy but nourishing enough to make skin feel soft and supple. The Lotion sank in quite quickly which I adore right now as it means you’re not waiting too long for the product to sink in especially if you’re in a rush which I am forever in. I used it first thing in the morning and my body still felt super nourished when I got back in the evening from being out running errands and being busy all day. I can’t wait to use all of the Lust/Flying Fox products and pair the together to smell beautiful all day long!

Exhale Perfume

This perfume contains Cedarwood Oil, Vetivert Oil, Sicilian  Lemon Oil, Grapefruit. Oil and Cade Oil.

A fun thing about Exhale. It is half of the very well known scent from Lush - Breath Of God. Breath Of God is made up of two separate scents at Lush. Inhale and Exhale. Inhale focuses more on the fruity sort of Melon like part of the Breath Of God fragrance whereas Exhale focuses on the more smoky aspect of Breath OfGod.

In my opinion, Exhale smells of when you first enter a bookshop in a way. This fragrance contains woody ingredients such as the Cedarwood and the Vetivert that are giving me that sort of bookshop scent vibe. The Cade to me adds a real punch of smokiness. Sort of like when wood has been burnt or when fireworks have been going off. I know these both sound like weird scents but to me they work. I think that this fragrance will be perfect during the Autumn season.

Thanks again to Lush Leeds Spa for reserving me this Kitchen Box so I could purchase it and use all of these wonderful items.

Are you subscribed to the Kitchen Box? Will you be subscribing now Lush are releasing a Shower version of the Kitchen Box for those who don’t have a tub? Let me know!

Thanks for reading!

Having Some Posh Good Old Times In The Shower | Lush Gourmand Favourites Limied Edition Range - Posh Chocolate Shower Gel & Let The Good Times Roll Body Lotion

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I thought that I would talk to you all today about the exclusive gourmand products that recently dropped on Lush’s website and in Lush stores for a limited time.

Posh Chocolate Shower Gel

Lush have decided to turn their best selling Posh Chocolate Body Wash into a Shower Gel for a limited time for those who prefer a bottled shower gel over a potted body wash. This may be for a plethora of reasons such as just preferring the texture of a gel to accessibility reasons such as it may be easier for them to open a shower gel lid rather than unscrew a potted lid.

This shower gel contains Glycerine, Water, Cocoa Powder, Hazelnut Milk, Fine Sea Salt, Lactic Acid, Cocoa Absolute, Australian Sandalwood Oil and Vanilla Absolute.

The texture of this shower gel was quite amazing. Thick but not too thick and moisturising without being heavy on the skin. I think the reason for this sumptuous texture is due to the Glycerine and Hazelnut Milk. Both are known for being quite moisturising to the skin.

The scent is to die for. If you have smelt Posh Chocolate before from Lush then you will know that it smells of the most divine Chocolate Hazelnut Spread. This shower gel is very similar but to me, the hazelnut is a little bit more subtle in this Shower Gel. Furthermore, the Sandalwood comes out a little bit more when you’ve washed this off your skin. The Sandalwood mixed with the Cocoa Absolute makes for a rich Chocolate scent that lasts on your skin after washing for several hours.

My skin is known for being quite dry no matter the weather and this shower gel made my skin feel truly soft and supple. If you wanted to pair this with some other products from Lush to create a gift then you could pair the Gel with the following. There’s Butterball to create a truly divine bathing experience. The brand new Magic Bus to create a sort of chocolatey tropical bathing experience. Orange Scrub to create a creative Chocolate Orange scent. Magic Crystals to create a refreshing Chocolate Mint scent and Coco Loco to create a shower experience that may remind you of Bounty Chocolate Bars.

A white hand holding a cylindrical plastic bottle filled with chocolate brown liquid with a black cylindrical lid with a black rectangular label with posh chocolate shower gel lush in white font on a bright background

Let The Good Times Roll Body Lotion

The fans have asked and Lush has spoken! Lush’s well known and sweet scented facial cleanser Let The Good Times Roll has been transformed into a body lotion for those who want to smell like sweet popcorn all year round! You can now pair the Facial Cleanser, Lotion and Body Spray to truly smell like a snack!

This body lotion contains Warer, Corn Oil, Polenta Infusion, Organic Jojoba Oil, Glycerine Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter and Organic Illite Butter.

The texture of this is quite gorgeous. Sumptuous and conditioning but sinks into the skin quite quickly. I wasn’t expecting this as my skin normally takes a fair while to absorb Cocoa Butter due to my skin being on the dry side but my skin drank it up quite quickly.

The smell is truly one of a kind. A true popcorn scent which I think is due to the Corn Oil and Polenta Infusion that is in this lovely lotion. I mean, its corn, what’s not to love? Personally I do think that the scent of this lotion could be a little bit more corny? I don’t know how to explain it but to my nose the scent reminds me of a mix of lightly toasted popcorn and a Creme Brûlée post it being torched to create that iconic cracking top that we all know and love. I do think for some that the scent of this lotion may be a love or loathe sort of situation. I have been using it for a while and I quite like it due to how it conditions my skin, If you layer it with a Body Spray or Perfume then it does give the fragrance that you spray on top a sort of smoky and creamy undertone which I have been enjoying. I’ve also been pairing it with an old All Good Things Solid Perfume from Lush and they have gone amazingly with each other.

If you wanted to create a gift for someone with this Lotion then you could obviously pair this with the Facial Cleanser and Body Spray of the same name and create a little Popcorn scented bundle for someone. You could pair Posh Chocolate Shower Gel and this Lotion to create a combo that will leave you smelling like a snack or you could pair it with Honey I Washed Your Kids or even the Popcorn Lip Scrub that’s exclusive to the Retro Wall to create a truly gourmand gift set.

A white hand holding a clear cylindrical bottle filled with neon yellow body lotion with a black cylindrical lid with a black rectangular label with let the good times roll body lotion lush in white font on a bright background

Have you been able to smell or grab either of these gourmand goodies? What is your perfect scent combo to smell like a true snack? Let me know down below and on social media.

Thanks for reasing!

Being A Believer Of All Things Lush | Lush X Shrek First Impressions From The Press Release

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. I don’t know if you have seen or not but Lush are releasing a Shrek collaboration and I thought that today I would talk to you all about it a little bit. I thought that in todays blog post I would give you all my first impressions on the range just based on the press release that Lush UK put out today and not seeing or smelling them in person.

This post may be short due to going off the press release notes only. Do not worry though as a longer in-depth post will come when I can get my hands on the range.

A wide angled photo of some black body spray bottles, green cylindrical tubs, clear shower gel bottles filled with green liquid with a green label that says Fiona shower gel in white font and some donkey and gingerbread men shaped bath and bubble bars on a background of a green lousy swamp on a bright background

Shrek Swamp Bath Bomb (£8)

Don’t be a Farquad! Users can unleash their very own swamp at bath time with this cheeky bath bomb.

Even if this bath bomb may turn your tub into a swamp, it contains a plethora of goodies includin Rhassoul Mud, Oakmoss and Japanese Seaweed which will leave skin feeling  softened and cared for. Furthermore, Shrek Swamp is scented with rich, deep chocolate mixed withrefreshing Peppermint, Pink Pepper and Vanilla to create a minty and spicy top note. I love all things swampy. I love all things Chocolate and I quite like spicy scents so I can see myself enjoying this scent profile and bath bomb quite a bit. I can see it being a bit similar but also quite different to say Guardians Of The Forest or Lord Of Misrule. Comparing it to LOM, they both contain a Pepper even if one contains Black Pepper and one contains Pink Pepper and they both contain Vanilla and I adore LOM so I will probably adore this bomb too.

A green spherical bath bomb with a big s engraved into the front on a bright background d

Get Outta My Swamp Shower Slime (£9/£18)

Make like Shrek and harness the power of the swamp for a slimy body wash that will leave users feeling  soft and silky. This Shower Slime contains Wheatgrass which is known for being  packed with Vitamin A, E and C. Wheatgrass when in beauty products is known for ensuring that the skin is soothed. This shower slime also contains cornstarch which is used not only to create the texture of this sublime slime but also to ensure that skin is left feeling super soft after using this product. This shower slime also shares the same scent as the Shrek Swamp Bath Bomb so they could definitely be paired together to create a gift perfect for a Shrek film fanatic! Honestly I’m not sure if I’m a big fan of Shower Slimes. I just find them a bit of a pain to use so I only use them when I really want to. I do love the idea of them but as someone with not the best dexterity I do struggle using them from time to time. I am intrigued to see if this Shower Slime is thicker at all and if it is then I can see myself getting on with it a little bit more than say Sparkly Pumpkin Shower Slime especially as the scent profile of this slime sounds superb.

A big dark green cylindrical tub with a black rectangular label with a green ogres face on the front with get outta my swamp shower slime in green font with lush x Shrek in green font on a bright background

Fiona Shower Gel (£10/£20/£34)

Be ogre-joyed with this fairytale blend of fresh, fruity fragrance transformed into a beautifully cleansing shower gel.

This gel contains Fresh Cucumber Juice which is known for its cooling and skin glowing properties. Fiona Shower Gel contains Lime, Pine, Buchu Oil and Mango Leaf Absolute.  I mean I love anything that contains Lime and Mango. I mean I can eat Lime Wedges whole without having any form of reaction so I am sure that I will enjoy the scent of this. I am a bit iffy with Pine sometimes so I do hope that Pine doesnt dominate the scent profile of this gel! I can see this being a great Shower Gel for Summer just going off the scent profile that Lush has provided.

A cylindrical plastic clear shower gel bottle filled with green shower gel with a black and green cylindrical lid with a green rectangular label with Fiona shower gel in white font with lush x Shrek in green font on a bright background

Gingy Bubble Bar (£7.50)

Do you know the muffin man? Well, get acquainted with the scent of freshly baked goods in the form of everyone’s favourite gingerbread man! Crumble under running water to release sweetly scented bubbles and swish around for even more suds!

Will I crumble Gingy up whilst reciting the whole scene between them and Lord Farquad? Maybe… I think that I tried Carrot Cake Lip Scrub and I did enjoy it but scents and products have been out since so I honestly don’t remember the scent of Carrot Cake Lip Scrub (which this bubble bar shares the scent of) to say much about it so ill definitely have to give this another sniff if I can. I mean I love Carrot Cake so I can’t see myself not enjoying the scent and this bubble bar in general.

A dark brown gingerbread man shaped bubble bar with multicoloured details on a bright background

Donkey Bath Bomb (£6)

Where would a brave knight be without his noble steed? Have Donkey join the party with this sweet ballistic, scented with waffle-y notes of cosy spiced caramel. Drop Donkey into a nice hot bath to release swirls of colour and waffle-sweet fragrance.

This beautifully cute bath bomb is scented in Lush’s iconic Yog Nog scent. If you have been an avid reader of this blog for a while then you will know that I love the Yog Nog scent but I usually wear it in the colder months so I am a bit unsure on Yog Nog being brought out in a bath bomb format at the beginning of Spring. Saying that, I do have a stash of Yog Nog products that I should use so I know that this bomb will go beautifully alongside them.

A grey and blue bath bomb that’s in a jumping position on a bright background

By Night One Way, By Day Another Body Spray (£35)

I have always loved this quote from Shrek so I love how they have turned the quote into a Body Spray. This Body Spray contains a blend of Lime. Mango Leaf Absolute, Melon and Green Apple, I love the sound of this fragrance and I am definitely intrigued to try it if I can. Lush also state that this Body Spray changes on the skin throughout the wear which I am even more intrigued by as maybe the Melon and Apple come out later on during the wear. I love anything Lime and Mango so I am sure that alongside the Fiona Gel that I will like it or at least like to try it.

A green and black body spray bottle filled with liquid with a green domed label with a pucture of a light brown haired Princess Fiona from Shrek with by day one way, by night another in white font with lush x Shrek in green font on a bright background

Mask Of Magnaminty will also be getting a label makeover for this collaboration. For years, customers in Korea and around the world including myself have forever associated this mask with Shrek. In Korea they call the mask Shrek Pack due to the association so Lush have changed the name of MOM to reflect this.

A photo of a black cylindrical tub with a black circular lid with mask of magnanimity in green font with Shrek pack written over the top in white font with face and body mask lush in white font on a bright background

This collaboration range will drop on the UK Lush App on Friday 22nd March 2024 and then online on Monday 25th March 2024. It will also be a few selected stores in the UK. These stores are Lush Liverpool Spa, Lush Edinburgh, Lush Glasgow City, Lush Beak Street which has been used as a pop up space for previous collaboration ranges such as Lush X Barbie and Lush Oxford Street. Do I wish that it was in more stores so that more people could get to sniff the range before buying it? I think so yes. I am a person who needs to know what something smells like before they buy it as I am severely, severely indecisive when it comes to purchasing well anything really.

Is Shrek Love and Life for you? What is your favourite Shrek film? Will you be purchasing any of the Shrek Range? Let me know down below.

Thanks for reading!

The Body Shop Christmas 2022 Launch Event At York Coppergate & Range First Impressions

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. I was kindly invited alongside Luke to attend the launch event of The Body Shop Christmas Range at the York Coppergate store and I thought that today I would talk to you all about it.

A zoomed in wide shot of two cylindrical shot glass bottles filled with clear liquid with white labels, one saying the body shop spiced orange eat and one saying the body shop wild pine eat in black font on a bright background

We started the event by finding the store. Now because my brain is a mess, I completely forgot where the store was but after a while, myself and Luke managed to find it.

We entered the superb store and was greeted by the wonderful staff at The Body Shop York Coppergate and started chatting. I grabbed a glass of Apple Juice and a Mince Pie because well is there any other way to get into the festive spirit?

After this, the wonderful staff started to tell us both all about the two new ranges such as that the Spiced Orange range contains community fair trade organic Aloe Vera from Mexico. Whilst the staff were telling us all about the ranges, we were given the correlating products to try.

When I tried some of the Spiced Orange Body Butter, the first note that I got from the scent was deep spices. I am glad about this as I saw that the notes were Orange, Spices and Vanilla which made me think that the Vanilla would be in your face but this definitely wasn’t the case when I sniffed it. The few spices that I’d say that are the centre of this scent are Cinnamon and Ginger which helps to create a sort of resinous sort of scent. These also help to cut through the Orange for me and stop it from being too similar to the Satsuma range that everyone knows and loves. I have smelt similar scents from other brands and they seem to have a sort of sick scented note to them for some reason. I am glad that the Spiced Orange range from The Body Shop doesn’t have this note to it.

A birds eye view of a range of products including cylindrical tall bottles filled with dark orange liquid and circular pots filled with white cream all with a white label that says spiced orange the body shop in black font on a bright background

A zoomed in photo of a white hand holding a circular metal silver pot of white creamy body butter with a white label that says spiced orange the body shop body butter in black font on a bright badckgtorund

My favourite products in the Spiced Orange range have to be the Shower Gel and Body Butter. I do love the idea of a bath bomb but I seem to notice that with The Body Shop, different products in the same range smell slightly different due to things such as additional oils and butters. I just love a Body Butter and the spices seem to come through quite a bit in it and I love a Shower Gel that I can put in the bathroom and use all the time on those cold Winter mornings.

After we tried the products briefly, the staff then started to discuss the Wild Pine range.

Wild Pine comes in a plethora of products to suit everyones needs this festive season. Whether this be a Shower Gel for those who want a quick wash, a bath bomb fror those who want to relax in the scent and a oil to cream body product for those who that want to feel nourished from the outside in.

A close up of two cylindrical tall clear shower gel bottles filled with dark green gel with a white label that says wild pine shower gel the body shop in black font on a bright background

Again, I was slightly hesitant when I heard that TBS were coming out with a Wild Pine range for Christmas as when I think of Pine I instantly think of those little tree shaped car air fresheners. That’s why I was so surprised when I finally smelt the range as it smelt completely different from those little car air fresheners.

To me, the Wild Pine range smelt very fresh and watery., I guess if I was to sum the scent up, id say that its the scent of a frozen lake in the middle of Winter that’s surrounded by a cluster of Pine Trees . Whereas Spiced Orange is warm with a touch of citrus, Wild Pine is cool with a touch of freshness. I think my favourite product of this range was the Body Butter.

A close up of a circular silver metal pot filled with white cream with a silver circular lid with a white label with wild pine body butter the body shop in black font on a bright background

After we had smelt and tried out both ranges, the lovely staff went through all of the advent calendars that The Body Shop have on offer this year. This year, TBS have three different advent calendars ranging in prices to suit everyones. Box Of Wishes is priced at £55 and contains a plethora of travel sized goodies for the face and body such as the Vitamin E Quench Sheet Mask 15ml and Almond Milk Shower Cream 60ml  , Box Of Wonders is priced at £95 and contains a mixture of goodies such as the Vitamin C Glow Sheet Mask 18ml and Avocado Body Scrub 50ml and Box Of Wishes and Wonders Ultimate Advent Calendar is priced at £145 which contains a handful of full sized products such as Himalayan Charcoal Skin Clarifying Night Peel 30ml, Edelweiss Liquid Peel 100ml and Boost Exfoliating Hand Wash 250ml.

After this, we chatted for a bit, grabbed more drinks and food, grabbed some photos and made our way round the wonderful store sniffing everything that we could find. We checked out the new Edelweiss range which helps the skin to feel strong and youthful and works on the skin just like how Retinol does, the well loved Vitamin C range which now has a few new products such as the Vitamin C Glow Revealing Serum 30ml and the Tea Tree range.

We then carried on and looked at the revamped fragrances that The Body Shop have launched in the past few months. I was actually looking for a birthday present for Abbey and I know that she loves anything Rose so I decided to pick her up the Rebel Rosebud Body Mist 100ml which I smelt whilst I was in store and loved myself. Luke said that the scent reminded him of Riosé Wine…

A close up of a long rectangular glass bottle filled with light pink liquid with a white label that says rebel rosebud body mist the body shop in black font on a bright background

Following on from this, we checked out the Hair section. I love their Ginger range and saw that they had released a new product within the range. Ginger Hair and Scalp Scrub 240ml is perfect for dry, flaky and sensitive scalps and leaves hair feeling moisturised and brand new. I was intrigued by this as well that screams my hair type and I love anything that is Ginger scented. Now that I’m typing this up, I kind of wish that I had asked if I could get a sample of it or something to try out especially with suffering from trichotillomaina which can leave my hair feeling dry, irritated and everything in-between. The other new product that was in the corner of my eye was the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave-In Conditioner 400ml which curly and coily hair. I actually had a quick look and realised that this was a completely brand new hair range for TBS. I didn’t try it in store but I did smell it and it smelt divine.

The final range that Luke and I had a look at was the Wellness range. The Wellness range comprises of three sub-ranges. Boost, Breathe and Sleep.

Boost contains Grapefruit and Bergamot Essential Oils and helps to well boost yourself when you need it with all it’s zesty and uplifting oils and scent. I did like this scent but I did think that it could do with being a little bit stronger for my liking as I like my zesty scents to pretty much punch me in the face. My favourite Boost product from sniffing them all in the store is the Boost Happy Hand Cream 30ml. I am forever in need of hand creams due to biting my fingers quite a bit due to my Anxiety getting quite intense from time to time.

The Breathe range contains Rosemary and Eucalyptus Oils to help you well breathe when you need to just take a moment out of a busy day or life and just give yourself a few moments to breathe and ground yourself or for when you have a cold and are having trouble breathing. I love this scent. It has took me a while to get used to as I sometimes relate Eucalyptus to Pub Toilets for some peculiar reason but I really like it. The Eucalyptus isn’t too strong and the Rosemary gives off a good amount of its resinous scent. My favourite product from this range is the Breathe Calm Balm as it helps me to relax and is travel friendly which is perfect for someone on the go like myself.

The Sleep range is for those who have trouble sleeping and contains Lavender and Vetiver Essential Oils. I quite like how the Vetiver adds depth and cuts through some of the Lavender to ensure that it isn’t too cloying. My favourite product from this range is the Sleep Calming Pillow Mist 100ml as it is travel friendly and I can spray it on my pillow and sheets when I need a little bit of help to get to sleep.

We finished looking around and a wild Michelle appeared to help us get back to the train station and get home. She sniffed some of the products and loved the Spiced Orange range. We said our goodbyes, grabbed our products and goodie bags and headed for the station.

Have you tried either of the new ranges? Let me know down below.

Thanks to the staff at the York Coppergate branch for inviting me along to the event and for being amazing.

Thanks for reading!

Let's Get Ooky Spooky In The Bath Or The Shower | Lush Halloween 2022 First Impressions - Bath & Shower

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I know that it may be a bit too early but Lush released their Halloween Range for 2022 so I thought that I would talk to you all about it today! As there is a lot of products this year, I'm breaking it up into two posts. 'Bath and Shower' and 'Everything Else'.

Bath

Bath Bombs:

Bat Art

It is time to let the Bats fly! Fly my pretties! Bat Art is back and ready to make your baths dark and dangerously spooky. This bomb has been out in previous Halloween ranges but I absolutely adore it. Bat Art contains Rosemary, Sicilian Lemon, Red Mandarin and Sage Oils. This mixture of ingredients creates a sort of Blackcurrant and Menthol sort of scent. If you are a Lushie then you may know this scent as Junk which is sold all year round as a Solid and Liquid Perfume. This productt also contains glitter and creates some beautiful bath art hence the name. If you haven't tried or sniffed it yet then I definitely urge you too! Priced at £5.

Big Foot

Y'know what they say, the bigger the foot, the bigger the monster. This bomb contains Coconut Milk Powder, Popping Candy, Epsom Salt, Himalayan Rock Salt, Lime Oil, Neroli Oil and Olibanum Resinoid. I can bet that this will be amazing in the bath due to the softening Coconut Milk, the Salts and the Popping Candy and thus be amazing for sore bodies which I seem to forever be at the moment. My main problem with Big Foot is that it just doesn't have a strong scent to it. This bomb seems to be the successor of Monsters Ball and sadly it doesn't live up to what Monsters Ball used to be like. I think that since the scent name has been changed to Zesty it has been toned down and thus when mixed with the bath bomb base mix it makes it severely hard to find the scent within the product. Priced at £4.50.

A three toed clawed foot shaped pink and green bath bomb with flecks if white salt on a bright background

Ghostie

Not all ghosts are mean, some are friendly! This bomb is returning for another year of spooktacular fun! Not only is this little Ghostie cute but they also have a rainbow design on them which makes the bath look beautiful and bright which we all definitely need when the doom and gloom hits us in the middle of Autumn. This bomb contains Lemongrass, Sicilian Lemon and Persian Lime Oils. To me this smells of citrus sherbet that you'd expect on top of an ice cream in the middle of Summer. This bomb is definitely a pick me up and if you are a Lushie then you may know the scent through the gone but never forgotten You've Been Mangoed Bath Oil. Great for when it’s hard to get up in the morning in the cold Autumn weather. Priced at £4.50.

A white ghost shaped bath bomb with a rainbow splatter design on the side of it on a bright background

I Want My Mummy

Who doesn't want their Mummy to wrap them up in warm blankets and comfort them. I kind of adore this bomb. It's a new one but it reminds me of Scooby Doo and well I kind of love that Lush have gone that way with a product for Halloween. I'm probably wrong and its just a play on Mummies and their iconography towards Halloween but who knows? This bomb contains Brazilian Orange and Bergamot Oils and Cupuaçu Butter. The mixture of Orange and Bergamot creates a rich toffee scent which most will know as the Honey I Washed The Kids scent whilst the butter makes the bath rich and creamy whilst it makes the skin feel super soft. I think that this bomb would be great for a sort of Halloween movie night or a pre-Halloween trick or treating sort of bath. Priced at £3.50.

A white mummy shaped bath bomb with strips of white butter all over it to act as bandages on a bright background

Lord of Misrule*

The Lord is back better than ever and they're up for causing some mischievous   misruling! Lord Of Misrule is a staple for the Halloween range at Lush and as stated it is back better than ever. Last year, LOM came out in a sort of beachball/jester design last year and this ruffled some feathers but this year it is back as its very well known and beloved green on the outside, wine red on the inside bath bomb. This bomb contains Dark Simatran Patchouli Oil, Black Pepper Oil and Vanilla Absolute. LOM Bath Bomb also contains Popping Candy which will give off an amazing experience in the bath. If you haven't smelt Lord Of Misrule before then imagine a sort of slightly spicy, slightly incense like scent with a touch of creaminess which helps to soften it all and stop it from being too much. I am glad that it has gone back to the original design as I felt like last years had a very soft LOM scent to it whereas the original is strong and a little bit in your face which I adore. £5.50.

A green spherical bath bomb with a crown engraved into it on a bright background

Punkin Pumpkin

Punk is not dead even if it's Halloween! This bath bomb is a staple at Lush when it comes to the Halloween. I mean it's a cute Pumpkin! This bath bomb contains Cinnamon Leaf, Lime, Sweet Wild Orange and Sicilian Red Mandarin Oils and Pumpkin Powder. To me, this smells of a slightly sweet yet still heavily spiced Pumpkin Pie and it is to die for. Think that if you want a great bomb to start the Halloween season off with then I would definitely suggest this one. I  always kind of pair this one with The Experimenter scent wise in my head. I'm not sure as to why. Priced at £5.

Screamo

Ahhh! The call is coming from inside the house! You better stop that bath from running and answer the call. This Bomb was out in 2021 as a Bubble Bar but they have had an upgrade and is out in 2022 as a beautiful Bath Bomb. This bomb contains Ylang Ylang, Almond Essential Oil and Benzoin Resinoid which creates a sort of light but creamy Cherry and Almond scent to me. If you have been a Lushie for a while then you will know this scent as Happy blooming. I am not the biggest fan of Cherry scents but I actually don't mind this one. I will definitely be pairing this bomb with the new Tarantula Shower Jelly. Priced at £5.

UFO

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, its an UFO! This bomb is a 3 in 1 bomb. This means that you can either use the three different parts of this bath bomb separately for three different baths or use the whole bomb as one for a magnificent and luxurious bath. This bath bomb contains Coarse Sea Salt, Popping Candy, Blackcurrant Absolute, Sicilian Lemon and Lemongrass Oils. To me, this reminds me of a sort of fruity cocktail. Whilst I was in store, I heard someone say that it reminded them of Puppy Love Bubble Bar and I kind of get what they mean as Puppy Love has that sort of quite sherbet like sweetness to it with a touch of fruit but I'd say that this is the Blackcurrant variety instead of the Raspberry version that Puppy Love is in.

I love the concept of this bomb but I have a couple of problems with this product as a whole. The Lemongrass is separated from the main bomb itself and only comes through to me through the popping candy which is in the centre of this bomb that you can empty and use on its own which in essence means that unless you use the whole bomb as one you won't get the addition of Lemograss alongside the other oils in your bath. I also don't think that Popping Candy should be classed as a bath bomb on it's own/a part that should be used on it's own to create a bath out of the possible three from this bomb If the Popping Candy came with Bath Bomb or Bubble Bar powder like it has in products from previous ranges then I think that this would make more sense to me. All in all though, this would be a great product to give as a Halloween gift. I know some friends who prefer Halloween to Christmas so it would be good to give to them or to anyone who loves anything Space related. Priced at £8.50.

A wide oval shaped green bath bomb with an orange top bath bomb with yellow pipes of popping candy in the middle on a bright background

Bubble Bars:

Alien

Aliens can't just phone home, they can run baths too! This product has been out in previous Lush Halloween ranges. This Bubble Bar contains Bergamot and Litsea Cubeba Oils and Benzoin Resinoid. To me, this creates a really intense citrusy Lime scent to me and honestly I'd associate this a little bit more with what I want Zesty to smell like rather than what Zesty does smell like but this is just my personal opinion. I'd definitely recommend this for someone again who is into Aliens or to use for a bath before going trick or treating. Priced at £5.50.

A oval alien shaped green bubble bar on a bright background

Bubble Lugosi

Sleeping in bubbles is the true dream. This bubble bar is a quirky one and contains Bergamot and Olibanum Oils which creates a Blackberry according to Lush. If you are a Lushie then you will know that this scent is the Soap Of Sultana/Blackberry scent and that this is a change up of the old beloved Bewitched Bubble Bar that was a Halloween staple. To me, when I smelt this in store, I mainly got Watermelon. It took me quite a while to get any form of creamy Blackberry from this product. This threw me off quite a bit. This bubble bar also glows in the dark like Bubble, Bubble, Toil & Trouble does.  £6.50.

A circular white black and red vampire inspired bubble bar on a bright background

Cyclops

You can see so much with just one eye! Not only does this bubble bar smell amazing but also looks it too. This Bubble Bar contains Buchu, Litsea Cubeba and Sweet Wild Orange Oils which to me creates a sort bright and zesty Passionfruit scent with a slightly creamy undertone. I guess imagine those well known creamy Orang ice lollies but Passionfruit flavoured. This Bubble Bar definitely could definitely have a role in Monsters Inc! £5.

A triangular cone orange shaped bubble bar with an white eye in the middle on a bright background

Labyrinth*

A bath filled with bubbles is best place to get lost in! This Bubble Bar looks the part due to having a maze design on it and pays homage to the legendary David Bowie film 'Labyrinth'. This bubble bar contains Black Pepper Oil, Dark Sumatran Patchouli Oil and Vanilla Absolute. This bubble bar shares its scent with the Lord of Misrule family of products. Definitely would recommend for when you need something grounding and relaxing. Priced at £6.

A circular orange and grey bubble bar with an ornate maze engraved on the top on a bright background

Shower

Body Scrub:

Toil & Trouble

Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble. Well in Lush's version, its for the shower so lets minus the bubbles! This scrub contains Fine Sea Salt, Lavender Flower Infusion, Peppermint Infusion, Labdanum Resinoid, Orris Oil, Patchouli Oil and Sage Oil. Scentwise, this scrub took me on a journey. When I smelt it in store, I mainly got the scent of slightly dirty fallen leaves which I know sounds weird but I got it somehow. When I smelt it out of the store, I instantly got the Peppermint Infusion and nothing else. When I smelt it when I got home from being out in Leeds, I got a mixture of Lavender, Mint, fallen leaves and Blackcurrant. To me, on this sniff the Blackcurrant was the most prominent of the oils. There is no Blackcurrant in this product which confused me and instantly reminded me of  Junk all at the same time as Junk smells of Blackcurrant without containing any form of Blackcurrant Oil. What do the two share in common, I hear you ask. Sage. This leads me to believe that Sage can make products smell of Blackcurrant which I am more than happy with. The scrub is fine and not too coarse for the body which is probably due to the Fine Sea Salt but this also means that it is great for that time of the week when you need to relax and just take care of your body whether this be in the form of a long shower or a bath that lasts far too long than it should do. If you can get to a store, I would definitely recommend trying this out! Priced at £12 for a 250g tub.

A oval splurge of black shower scrub with purple bat shaped shower jellies on top on a bright background

Shower Gel:

Blood Orange

Halloween is the perfect time to get a little bit bloody. I love Blood Oranges to the point that once I walked around Leeds City Centre just eating one. I mean I do that with most citrus fruit including Limes and Lemons. This Gel contains Fresh Orange Peel Infusion, Fresh Orange Juice,  Organic Blood Orange Oil, Bergamot Oil and Davana Oil. Yes you read that right, three different types of Orange. To me, this gel is slightly sweeter than a typical Blood Orange but I think that this is due to the addition of Davana Oil. Saying this, this gel is uplifting, citrusy and severely orange and I love it! Do I associate this smell with Halloween? Not really but do I love it and will I use it during the Halloween period? Oh definitely! Personally I think that this could be one of those products that gets pushed into AYR. Definitely worth a try if you can get your hands on if! Prices start from £7 for 120g.

A tall cylindrical plastic bottle filled with bright orange shower gel with a black rectangular table with blood orange shower gel lush in white font with a black cylindrical lid on a bright background

Lord of Misrule*

Lets cause some misruling in the shower! This Shower Gel contains Black Peppercorn Infusion, Dark Sumatran Patchouli Oil, Black Pepper Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Wheatgerm Oil and Carrageenan Extract. I do quite like the Black Peppercorn Infusion as it seems to add a little bit of an extra smokiness to LOM which makes the Gel stand out a little bit more compared to the rest of the products that share the same scent. The Carrageenan Extract adds a sort of nourishing thick texture texture to this gel which I quite enjoy. Prices start from £8 for a 100g bottle.

A cylindrical plastic clear bottle filled with bright green liquid with a black rectangular table with Lord of Misrule shower gel lush in white font on a. bright background

Shower Jelly:

Tarantula

Creepy crawlies love Showers! Last year we saw the marvellous Monster Octopus make an appearance for Lush Halloween. This year it’s Tarantula’s  time to thrive. This cutie contains Cherry Infusion, Davana Oil, Lime Oil, Almond Essential Oil and Activated Charcoal. These ingredients create a strong sort of fresh Cherry mixed with Almond sort of scent. I sometimes find Cherry scents a bit too overpowering but this isn’t the case for Tarantula as the Almond cuts some of that sweetness that the Cherry Infusion and Oil provides.  Definitely worth sniffing if you can get to a store and if so give this terrific tarantula a good old wiggle. Priced at  £8 for a 180)g tub.

A black spider shaped shower jelly with rainbow sparkles running all the way through it on a white bright background

Shower Slime:

Sparkly Pumpkin

Who doesn’t love some sparkly slime? This slime is a fun product for both children and adults to use in the shower. This slime contains  Grapefruit, Juniperberry and Lime Oils, Fresh Grapefruit and Orange Juices. The scent of this is amazing however it is slightly different to Sparkly Pumpkin to me due to the additional juices. Whereas Sparkly Pumpkin was spicy with citrus notes, this slime is the other way round. Definitely something to use when you need a perk me up during the Autumn months and fun to use. I haven’t used this year so I’m kind of excited to use it! Priced at £6.

FUN:

Monster Mash

Let's do the Monster Mash! What is FUN? FUN is a multipurpose product from Lush that can be used as shampoo, bubble bar, soap, and much more. This particular FUN contains four different scents from Lush. Junk (Bat Art), Alien, Ghosty & Punkin Pumpkin (this is the main reason why I aren't including the ingredients on this product as I have already mentioned them all in this post). I love the concept of this but I wished that these were sold separately as I love some more than others. The scents are strong! I would definitely recommend giving this as a gift. Priced at £9.50 for 200g.

Soap:

Ghost In The Dark

Ruh, roh! Let's go find those g-g-ghosts in the dark! Some people prefer soap over shower gel and Lush hasn't left those people out of the Halloween range this year. Ghost In The Dark is not only a lovely soap but it also glows in the dark! This soap contains Lemongrass and Bergamot Oils. This creates a bright and zesty scent If you are a Lushie then you will know this scent as Avobath. I love this scent but I think that it works slightly better in the bath bomb form but this will definitely wake you up and if you use it as a general hand soap then it will leave your hands feeling oh so smooth! Priced at £6 for a 100g slice.

That's it for the Bath and Shower. Come back next time for the rest of the Lush Halloween 2022 Range.
