Hey!
Welcome to a brand new blog post! The Body Shop have released two brand new masks and I thought that today I would tell you guys what I thought about them both.
The Body Shop have released quite a few items this Summer including the Spa Of The World Firming range, their new hair care products (you can read about both in my post via clicking here), re-releasing their infamous cocktail influenced ranges (Virgin Mojito and Pinita Colada) and even bringing out two new brilliant masks for people such as you and I to enjoy.
The first product that I am going to talk to you all about is the brand new Expert Facial Mask. This mask is called Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask which might sound like a bit of a mouthful but it promises to do amazing things to your skin if you're submerged in air pollution such as living in the hustle and bustle City Of London.
This mask is infused with Matcha Green Tea from Kakegawa in Japan. The product also contains Dandelion Extract and soul-soothing Aloe Vera from Mexico. This mask is 100% Vegan. It also deeply purifies and gently exfoliates your skin to remove the weekly build-up of city pollutants,.dirt and grime.
This mask has a scent of freshly cut grass mixed with a deep musky hint of Tea which I quite like as it makes it a grea smelling mask to use in the morning due to the freshness of the freshly cut grass element but also a great mask to use at night due to the hint of musk that you get when using this mask. The texture of this mask is very creamy due to Shea Butter being in the mask which also makes this quite a nourishing mask. I like the creaminess but I normally use creamier masks at night time before I use a Night Cream so if you're wanting something slightly more tightening for when you're using a mask in the morning then I'd suggest the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask and then for when using a mask at night I'd suggest this as it definitely purifies the skin without stripping too much of the natural moisture that is in the skin.
I would definitely suggest this to anyone that lives in a very busy city or for someone who wants something to help purify their skin.
The second mask that I shall be talking to you about is Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask.
Wake up to clearer-looking skin! This mask is specifically formulated to care for oily skin and imperfections while you sleep. It is infused with Salicylic Acid and Tea Tree Oil, This mask is 100% Vegan! It will reduce the size and number of imperfections and achieve clearer, smoother, and healthier-looking skin.
The scent of this is well Tea Tree... You will know exactly what I mean when you smell anything that contains pure Tea Tree Oil. It just has a Medicinal scent to it. I think that this is a good thing though when it comes to applying a Night Mask as I don't want anything too overstimulating scent before going to bed.
The texture is slightly more gel than anything which sounds weird but if you've tried the Drops Of Youth Sleepy Bouncing Mask then you will exactly know what I mean. Its a gel that turns into a bit more of a watery texture but the fun thing about this is that it slightly sets which means that it;s definitely working!
This mask does definitely reduce any imperfections and ask my face is full of them due to enjoying dairy with a body that cant even tolerate it means that I breakout as soon as I say the word lactose but this mask reduced the size of my spots and calmed any scars that I had from acne right down.
I would definitely recommend this if you have a few imperfections and you wanted them to be reduced in a humane way.
Make sure that you're checking out The Body Shop as at the minute you can get a voucher for three free face masks including the new Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Clearing Mask and a couple of others.

Becoming Red Raw | My Experiences With FaceTox
Hey!
I was sent a box of FaceTox and I thought I would tell you all what happened with the product. It's going to a bit of a lengthy post so I'd probably make a drink before reading.
The wonderful guys over at FaceTox sent me a 7 day package. I decided that I was going to put it aside and use it in the buildup of going to the Joe Browns event as I wanted my skin to look great. (If you want to see what I got up to at the event then click here to read that post.)
It came round to the week commencing when I was going to use the face mask so I read the instructions and made up the face mask. In the box, you get a bowl, a spatula and enough of the two sachets to make up the face mask. I mixed the face mask up, applied it and left it on for the time that it said on the box. After this time, it had set on my face. It kind of felt like concrete but thats how it was meant to feel. I washed it off which took a while. After washing the mask off, my face felt wonderful.
On Day 2, I did the exact same things as the above and my face felt wonderful yet again. It felt fresh, clean and Facetox did everything that it said on the box such as getting rid of acne and making pores unclogged. My face felt cleansed and felt like it could breathe for the first time in ages. I was expecting great things for the rest of the week whilst using Facetox.
Day 3 arrived and this is when everything went downhill. I applied it like usual and left it on for the normal amount of time but there was more tingling that usual (it tingled quite a bit on the other two days so I didn't take much notice.) I washed it off and my face stung quite a bit. I read the FAQ's and they said that it might be red for a little amount of time but it should go away. I applied moisturisers and left it overnight and it was still stinging quite a bit and was red raw. I applied more and went to the Joe Browns event feeling a little bit unconfident but with Michelle cheering me on I didn't feel too bad.
I kept applying a good few moisturisers and washed daily with a Tea Tree wash as Tea Tree is antibacterial so it would sort itself out quickly. It took a week to completely calm down and heal. FaceTox said it was meant to be for sensitive skin which I thought meant that nothing weird or bad would happen with my skin.
If you do use FaceTox then I'd just be a tad bit careful and make sure that your skin is being okay with it. Sadly I can't really say go and buy it as it made my skin red raw for a while and has put me off recommending it to anyone that I know.
Have you had any bad skin experiences? Let me know!
I hope that you haven't minded this little ramble and that you come back next time to read the next post!
Thanks!
