Lush Biomic Body Cream First Impressions

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I popped into Lush recently and saw that there was a new product so I knew that I had to tell you guys all about it. 

Ingredients: 

Meadowsweet Infusion, Glycerine, Organic Almond Oil, Propylene Glycol, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Fresh Rose Petal Infusion, Organic Jojoba Oil, Stearic Acid, Tiger Lily Extract, Organic Avocado Oil, Sacha Inchi Oil, Organic Cold Pressed Evening Primrose Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Orange Blossom Honey, Triethanolamine, Lemongrass Oil, Ylang Ylang Oil, Jasmine Absolute, Beeswax, Benzyl Salicylate, *Citral, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume

If you are a fan of Lush then you may remember this product being out years ago under the name ‘Lovely Jubblies’. 

The texture of this product is a fun one to me. It’s thick to the point of if you tip the tub upside down nothing comes out but as soon as you scoop some out of the product it’s slightly more of a creamy consistency rather than thicker than egg whites whipped to thick peaks. When massaging this product into the skin it stays that sort of same slightly thick but not too thick cream and takes a while to sink into the skin due to well being a thick consistency and full of oils, butters and infusions. If you apply it straight after a shower or bath then obviously this cream loosens up a bit due to mixing with the residue of water left on the skin from said shower or bath so if you like body products that are little bit thinner then apply then. I’ve been mainly applying it both ways and honestly it depends on my mood and time of day on which way I’m applying it. When it is applied to the skin, I did notice that it does leave the skin with a slightly firming and sort of taut feeling to it which I quite liked but I have only been trying this for a week so I want to try this out for a little bit longer before I claim that this product does ‘firm’ the skin like I do with most beauty products when I’m reviewing them. (Just to reiterate the sinking in note, I applied a tiny bit before typing this paragraph around fifteen minutes ago and I’m still waiting for it to sink in). 

The scent of Biomic is a slightly peculiar one. I did try to compare the scent of this product with its former version but I don't fully remember what Lovely Jibblies smells like due to it being a fair amount of time since LJ was discontinued from Lush. When I first apply this to my skin, the main scent that comes through is a peppery floral sent. I believe that this is from the mixture of Meadowsweet, Tiger Lily and Rose Petals. Once the product has sinked into the skin, Biomic turns into a slightly light citrus scent. I think that this is mainly from the Lemongrass and Orange Blossom that is in the product. The two mix together to create a very peppery floral scent with a slight hint of citrus. I wish that there was a little bit more citrus in this product as depending when you smell it you can't really smell any of the citrus. 

Once I have finished this sample, I might buy the product in its full size pot. As a little goes a long way I know that it would take me a while to get through it. However, I think that this is an amazing product with some good firming properties so if I did buy I would be using it as much as possible. Prices start from £11 for Biomic.

Terry's Chocolate Orange White Review

Hey everyone! 

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I recently popped into my local Morrisons and found the new Terry's Chocolate Orange White, so I thought that it was worth giving it a review and telling you all what I thought about it. 

Just before I properly review the blog post, there's a little story that I need to tell you. I heard about this product coming out via other food bloggers. I was very intrigued as I know that this product has been out before, but I don't remember them. Luke, my brother, had tried them before and loved them as he loves White Chocolate and Orange flavoured products. With the pandemic being a thing, it is hard to pop out just for a food item to review, so I decided to check the supermarket (Morrisons) as I had heard that it would be available there when I was doing a medium sized shop. I checked for weeks and weeks... Nothing. I honestly thought that these spherical shaped sweet products were rarer to find than an Unicorn. Then, as I was going in before my face to face Masters Induction, I saw a big sparkly white light. It was the product that was rarer than any other product in the land. It was the Terry's Chocolate Orange White. I  snapped them up, took them home, gave one to my brother and my mum and decided to have some with Mean Girls and review it at the same time. 

The description is quite vague, It just says, 'Made with real orange oil, Suitable For Vegetarians.' - Morrisons. 

The texture of the chocolate. was average. I'm one of those people who likes to chill their Chocolate products to get a sort of crisper texture. I think that the crispness of the Chocolate, post chilling, makes for a greater experience with the Chocolate Orange. Not only, do you get to hear a more pronounced snap when you bite into the product, but you also get to have a bit more fun trying to 'tap it' instead of 'whacking it'. If you remember the adverts and slogan, then you will grasp what I am getting at. I also find it very gratifying when I am finally able to get into a Terry's Chocolate Orange post doing the above. 

The main feature of this post, is reviewing the taste of this product, which is what I will focus on within this paragraph. When I bit into the White Chocolate Orange, my tastebuds were hit with a wave of sharp and seductive Orange. After a few moments of the Orange blasting onto my tongue, I was slowly hit with a tumbling tidal wave of White Chocolate. I'm not the biggest fan of White Chocolate normally, because, I find it too sickly and strong. However, this wasn't the case for this product. The White Chocolate added a bit of creaminess to the Orange, instead of taking over the taste of Orange. It was more a Terry's Chocolate Orange with White Chocolate, rather than a White Chocolate Terry's Chocolate Orange. 

Would I buy it again? I think that I would. I'm not the biggest fan of White Chocolate, but this has changed me. I really like this product and I think that I would get it again and again. I would probably get it for either gifts towards the festive period, or, get it as something to enjoy as a treat with a film or two.

Dairy Milk Crispy Mint Creme Chocolate Bar Review

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I thought that today, I would talk to you about a Chocolate Bar that I found at B&M. 

I recently found a new bar from Dairy Milk when I was in B&M. Dairy Milk Crispy Mint Creme. I have never tried it before, so I thought that I would pick up a bar to try because I love anything that is Mint Chocolate flavoured.

The texture of this product was very interesting. The beginning of the texture journey started off with the smooth feeling of the Milk Chocolate. After the smooth Milk Chocolate melted on my tongue, a blast of thick cream hit my tongue, unlike the melting chocolate, this coated my tongue a bit more compared to the smooth liquid like melted Chocolate. Finally, once the cream had left my tongue, bursts of crispy mint pieces came through. I liked these pieces, as they were a much needed contrast against the two quite smooth components of the bar. However, after eating a bit of a bar, crunching on so many tiny little sharp shards of mint honeycomb started to hurt my teeth. Yes, they were quite sharp. It was slightly intense and after a while did put me off the bar a tad. 

Even though the texture put me off a bit, the refreshing taste of this bar made me want to go back to it again and again. The richness of the Chocolate instantly hit my tongue like a grenade, ensuring me that I knew that I had bit into a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, after a few moments, a wave of sweet Vanilla coated my tastebuds. I love how it cut through all the richness of the rich Chocolate. I'm sometimes a bit finicky when it comes to Vanilla flavoured products but I loved how this cream tasted. Finally, a brilliant burst of cooling mint pierced my palette. I love how the Mint mixed with the Vanilla to ensure that the Mint wasn't too much of an intense flavour on my tongue. 

Would I try it again? Honestly, maybe. The price of this bar was £3 at B&M, and even though I can see why it's priced at that price, due to the bar being from Australia and having three different components which normally makes a chocolate product more expensive. Saying that, I don't think its worth the price to an extent. I think if it was in a slightly smaller bar then I would get it every now and again, but only being able to get it in a big bar for £3 puts me off a bit especially as I know I'd be paying to end up having mint shards trying to break my teeth. There are very similar products on the market that deliver a similar textural and flavour sensation. If I saw this and was in the mood for a luxury Mint Chocolate bar, which sometimes I am then I would probably pick a bar of it up as a treat.

Lidl's Fin Carre White Chocolate, Coconut & Cornflakes Bar Review

Hey everyone! 

Welcome to a brand new blog post. I went to Lidl recently and saw a Chocolate Bar that sounded intriguing so I thought that I would talk to you all about it today. 

I couldn't find a description online. The product is a White Chocolate bar that contains pieces of Dessicated Coconut and Cornflake pieces. 

The texture of this product is amazing. When I popped a couple of pieces into my mouth, the smoothness of the creamy White Chocolate coated my tongue like a blanket. After the blanket of pale Chocolate coated my mouth, a flood of Dessicated Coconut flew onto my tastebuds making me figure out which bits were melted Chocolate and which bits were Coconut. I love Coconut as a textural ingredient in food products as it gives a little body to the product. I think it's why I love Bounty's so much. I had forgot that this bar contained Cornflake pieces when I tried some so I was surprised to then have an explosion of texture burst on my palette via the Cornflakes. It added another dimension to the bar, as the Coconut added more of a chew, whereas the Cornflake pieces added a cheerful crunch to the bar. 

The taste of this product was very interesting. I'm not the biggest fan of White Chocolate. I just kind of think its a bit too rich and sickly for me. However, when I tried a piece of this product, the White Chocolate was rich and creamy but had a slight kick of Vanilla to it which cut through the taste of the Chocolate. After a few minutes, a flavour wave of Coconut flooded my tastebuds. I love Coconut so I was pleased that this was the next stop on the flavour train. I love Coconut in anything and it made me feel like I was laying on a beach somewhere forgetting all of the things that are going on at the moment. The final stop on the taste train was the Cornflakes. Sadly, these were more for texture than taste, but they still added a touch of slight savouriness to the product which I always love as I am a big fan of sweet and salty food. 

Would I buy this again? It is rare that I buy White Chocolate based products again, but I would buy this again and again. If you're not the biggest fan of White Chocolate then I urge you to try this as I think that it will win you over. I think that this would be great to enjoy on a night in whilst watching something. I think that it would also be great enjoyed with a drink when you need a bit of a pick me up.

Moseying On From The Store | Moser Roth Chocolate From Aldi Review

Welcome to a brand new blog post. How are you doing today? Let me know in the comments below! I thought that, today, I would talk to you all about, some of the Moser Roth Chocolate products, that I tried when I went shoping at Aldi the other week.

None of the products are available on the website, thus, are, in store only from what I've researched. Furthermore, as they're not online, I won't be able to go into as much detail as I do on other posts. I also went to try out the bar that Food Review UK, had tried, but when I arrived at Aldi, that particular flavour disappeared. I was sad, as I love Coffee and Chocolate. Instead, I thought I'd just pick a few bars up and give them all a go. 

Moser Roth Private Collection: Mousse Au Chocolat - Sour Cherry & Chilli

This packaging on this product, compared to the other two items that I purchased was different. This product had a more shiny black rectangular packet to it compared to the other two. The next big difference is that, this product wasn't technically a share bar that the other two are. This product had five small bars that could be taken out of the cardboard sleeve individually.

The Chocolate shell of the bar, was Dark Chocolate with a hint of Chilli, whereas the interior was a smooth, sort of, fruit compote filling which consisted mainly of pure Sour Cherry. I loved the textural contrast between the crisp shell and the smooth filling. The taste contrast was amazing, as the Sour Cherry had a bit of sweetness, which cut some of the bitterness of the Dark Chocolate, and the Chilli that came after cut through some of the Sourness of the Cherry. Honestly, even if you don't really enjoy Cherry flavours, that much, I would still encourage you to try it.

Moser Roth Private Collection: Dark Chocolate 64% Single Origin Peru with Spanish Almond & Bolivian Popped Quinoa

As mentioned above in the Sour Cherry review, this packaging has a more dark grey rectangular cardboard sleeve that contains a bar of chocolate in sort of tin foil packaging. Honestly, the packaging reminded me of the bars, from a Swiss Chocolatier, that is known for their Red spherical truffles...

This one had a few problems for me sadly. The Almonds and the Quinoa, which meant that, you couldn't really feel or taste the Almonds, which pretty much meant that this was a Dark Chocolate and Quinoa bar more than anything. I didn't mind the texture of the Quinoa and I get what they were trying to do. I get that Aldi/Moser Roth were going for a sort of Chocolate bar with Popped Rice in it, like the Nestle Crunch bars, but for some reason, the Quinoa wasn't that crunchy so it was more of a nubbly feeling compared to a full popped rice sort of texture. I'm not fully sure why, but, the bar overall had a very big sort of soapy berry sort of flavour going on, and, after trying the bar over a couple of days, I'm still not sure as to why. I'm sadly not sure whether I'd get this one again

Moser Roth Private Collection: Caramel Doré Chocolate with Pecans and Himalayan Pink Salt 

This bar was amazing, but, there could be a few tweaks made. The Pink Salt in particular could be played with a bit. I get it, everyone likes salt in different amounts, but when it comes to Salt and Chocolate, I want to be able to know that there's Salt in my Chocolate. I realise that sounds stupid, but do you know what I mean? Some brands, I'm not stating names, but they don't go enough with the Salt when they've created a Salted Caramel bar and its just a bit meh. The Salt was a bit detectable in this bar, but, it was more of an after taste than anything and if I hadn't;' had read the packet, then, I wouldn't have realised that there was Salt in the bar.

The Chocolate itself, reminded me of Caramac, but with more of a burnt toffee taste. By that I mean that it was kind of sickly sweet caramel, with a bit of a burn to counteract the Sweetness. I loved the sort of burnt aroma in the Chocolate, but if you had too much then it would burn up and maybe make you feel like you had just eaten smoke. The Pecans, I loved as it created a textural difference. Overall, I would have this again, as it is amazing, even with it's flaws, just like most of my friends.

Have You Heard That God Is A Bath Bomb? | Lush Goddess Bath Bomb

Welcome to a brand new post! I thought that, today, I would talk to you about the Goddess Bath Bomb, that was released at Lush Showcase.

If you don't know about the Lush Showcase, then Showcase is an event that happens once a year, to showcase the new products that are coming within the next year at Lush, to press and customers that have got tickets to come to the event.

The Bicarb is essential in any bath bomb to ensure that it fizzes and bubbles in the bath. Nobody want a bath bomb that just plops and dissolves, do they? Jasmine is the main front in this bath bomb, so when the Rose mixes with it, it creates a fresh floral base for the product. The Oudh and Sandalwood adds depth to the product to ensure that it's just not flowery, and the Osmanthus adds fruitiness to the bomb. Personally, I think that the Rose and Jasmine are the most prominent in this product.

Background Of The Product: 

A fan of Ariana Grande's asked Lush to create a bath bomb based around Ariana. After months of tinkering and mixing, Goddess was born.

What Does It Do In The Bath?: 

When the bath bomb first fizzes in the bath, the colour slowly seeps out from a light blue to a deep purple throughout the duration of the bath which helps to a create a sort of slight, ombre effect in the water. The lustre that is in the middle of the concave hole in the product spreads throughout the water to create an iridescent effect. The butters that are in the ballistic slowly seep out at the end to create a foam on top of the coloured water which, then, hydrates the skin due to being so moisturising.

Price:  

£5.95

Opinion On The Product: 

I think, if you like deep floral scents, and/or Ariana Grande, then this bomb is for you. Personally, I liked it but I wasn't instantly addicted like I was to The Experimenter, or, say the new Luxury Lush Pud. I think that its good for one of those times where you want something light and floral and a bit more moisturising, then say, Sex Bomb. I love the concept and I kinda love the design, even though I did think it was a bit of a weird look at first. I think that this bomb is definitely one, that you have to try yourselves before making a decision on it.

A Bath Bomb But For The Shower?! Say What?! | Karma Shower Bomb Review

Welcome to a brand new post! I thought that today, I would talk to you all about the new Karma Shower Bomb from Lush. Side note: who's at Lush Showcase this weekend? Let me know down below!

Lush released their Lush Moods range via their Lush Labs section on their website. These were slowly released into the UK stores. The Lush Moods range consists of multiple products, including, a body conditioner, some bath bombs and Shower Bombs.

Ingredients & Scent 

The ingredients that are in this product include,

Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Citric Acid, Potato Starch, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Calcium Lactate,  Sodium Alginate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Patchouli Oil, Brazilian Orange Oil, Lavandin Oil, Pine Oil, Elemi Oil, Water (Aqua), Turmeric Powder, Citral, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Colour 15510, Colour 47005, Colour 19140.

The Cream Of Tartar, Citric Acid and Potato Starch help the product to foam up. The starch also helps to slightly scrub at the skin when using it. If you have used any Karma scented product before then you'll know the scent. Patchouli gives a sort of earthy but slightly spicy scent, Pine offsets the full on spice in the Patchouli, and Orange gives it some brightness.

How To Use It: 

The way to use this is to pick up the block, get in the shower, turn the shower on and put the bomb in the palm of your hand, and then let the water run over it so it foams up. Once it has foamed, use that foam to wash yourself. The oils mixed with the hot water will make your shower smell amazing, and will make you feel amazing!

Texture:

The texure of the bomb before using it is very powdery. Once you put it under the water in the shower, the product creates a foam. That foam is the most luxurious and smooth foam that you'll come across in a long white. The Starch acts like a scrub and the foam is reminiscent of a body butter/mousturiser.

Price:

The price of this particular Shower Bomb (there are more, go and check Lush to find the rest) is £2.75.) It's meant for one use, but you can definitely get 2-3 uses out of it!

Overall Thoughts: 

I love this! I love Karma at this time of year, as its uplifting but spicy, so its a great scent for Summer to Autumn.I love how you can experience the bomb phenomenon even if you don't have a bath. The price is fab especially as you get more than one use out of it, and let's be honest, most bath bombs are double that price. I think that the powder is a bit annoying and messy, when you're trying to get it out of the packet when you're about to use it. Although, I get why it's there and I love how it can be used for an in shower scrub.

Is This The Best Natural Body Scrub Ever? | Lush Scrub, Scrub, Scrub

Welcome to a brand new post, I thought that today, I would talk to you all about the new 'Scrub, Scrub, Scrub' from Lush, that was released to all stores in the past couple of weeks.

Side note: is anyone at Lush Showcase, this weekend? 

Ingredients & Scent: 

The ingredients that are in this wonderful Lush Scrub are:
Fine Sea Salt, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Blackberry Puree, Lime Puree, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Powdered Charcoal, Propylene Glycol, Organic Blackcurrant Powder, Blackcurrant Absolute, Buchu Oil, Rosemary Oil, Pine Oil, Lactic Acid, Lauryl Betaine, Citral, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume

The Sea Salt helps to give the skin a good but not too harsh scrub (which makes this product good for dry and maybe slightly sensitive skin. The Blackberry, Lime and Blackcurrant gives the product, an uplifting and fruity scent. If you've been to Lush before, then think The Comforter but deeper. The Charcoal helps to scrub the skin, but also helps to mattify the skin. It also gives it a lovely black colour. The Pine and Rosemary help to deepen the fruitiness that is in the product.

Texture 

The texture of Scrub, Scrub, Scrub, is a weird one to explain unless you've used a Lush scrub before. It's a sort of a scrubby wet sand texture, but black in texture. It's thick but not too thick that you're spending twenty minutes scooping some out, and it's not too thin where you scoop it and it just drips off. It has a fine scrub but you can definitely feel it. It definitely does the job. I feel like its a great one to use at nighttime when you don't want to be scrubbing five layers of skin off.

Price 

It's £13.95 for a 300g tub and £23.95 for a 625g tub

Overall Thoughts 

I love the scent. Yes, it's like The Comforter, but it's not the exact replica of The Comforter. I love the deep Berry scent and I think that it would be a good scent for the colder months, The Charcoat might put people off due to staining, but Lush scrubs don't take long to clean if they end up in the sink or shower. I love the scrub as it's not too harsh. I do think that the price is a bit much personally, but you get a hell of a lot for the price. (I tried this due a generous sample from the wonderful Darren at Lush White Rose.)

Stirring Up Some Magic | Magic Crystals |The New Scrub From Lush

Welcome to a brand new blog post! Today, I'm talking to you about the new scrub that is available at all Lush stores. Double, double, boil and trouble. Keep reading to find out what I thought about the Magic Crystals Scrub.

Lush have been bringing out a plethora of products, via avenues such as the Lush Labs platform that they have created online, but within the past week, they have released both the Vanillary Body Spray (comment down below if you want me to talk about that in a separate post0 and the Magic Crystals Body Scrub. I'm going to guess that this product is based around spells and Harry Potter, like their Secret Arts Jelly Bath Bomb.

Ingredients and Smell: 

I thought that I would start off via talking about the ingredients. I know that this sounds a bit weird, but, I want to ensure that when it comes to beauty products and reviews, that I'm as informative as I can be.

Epsom Salts Fine Sea Salt Sodium Laureth Sulfate Sodium Cocoamphoacetate Perfume Fresh Mint Infusion Fresh Rosemary Infusion Fresh Sage Infusion Propylene Glycol Menthol Crystals Peppermint Oil Spearmint Oil Aniseed Oil Lactic Acid Titanium Dioxide Lauryl Betaine *Limonene Colour 17200 Colour 42090:2

Fine Sea Salt and Epsom Salts instantly help to scrub away any dead skin that is on your body. The Mint infusion helps to invigorate and help you feel awake during the day. The Aniseed Oil helps to stimulate the mind. The Rosemary and Sage infusions ensure to cleanse and tone the skin which means that you can put the scrub on, moisturise and then go on with your day.

When you instantly smell Magic Crystals, you get the Mint infusion, Spearmint Oil and Menthol Crystals. It reminds me straightaway of Intergalactic/Creme De Menthe Mouthwash. The Aniseed Oil adds a deeper scent to the Mint which makes it more pleasant, instead of wow too much mint in the morning. The Rosemary and Sage come through more when scrubbing it.

What It Does: 

The product is a sort of thick liquid cream texture therefore, you have to scoop it out, which can be messy if you just shove your hand in not knowing how much you actually need. When you scrub it on the skin, you can feel that it is a fine texture due to the Sea Salt. This means that, it gets into the nooks and crannies of your skin. Due to the Oils, after you have washed the product off, your skin feels really smooth. I have Dry Skin, which means that finding a good scrub is quite hard to do but this one worked well on my skin. I would recommend (and I will put this in bold for extra emphasis) like any Mint based product, please be careful if you use it on your private bits, as I can see this being ten times more extreme than a well known Mint Shower Gel.

Price: 

This product comes in two sizes. It comes in at £10.95 for a 300g Black Tub, or, £19.95 for a 625g Black Tub. Yes, this is expensive and I do think that it could be made in a smaller tub or slightly less expensive, but you do have to remember that you're paying for all of the amazing fresh ingredients and oils that go into a product. If you do want to stick to Lush for scrubs but think that this is on the expensive side, then you can always look at their solid scrubs.

Overall Opinion and Rating: 

I think that for a scrub, it does it's job. I love the name of the product and I love the fact that it is a fine scrub, instead of the chunky ones that end up everywhere when you try to apply them. I personally love the Mint smell. I know that some won't, but, I love the Intergalactic Bath Ballistic, and I love the scent of this product! I do think that it's best to portion it up, mainly because, if you take the whole tub into the shower or bath, then I can see it getting messy. I do think that the price is a bit on the pricy side, but liquid scrubs do last a long time, so you'll definitely get your moneys worth!
