Five Things I've Loved From The Yorkshire Soap Company This Winter

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. With Christmas coming up, even during this peculiar and tiresome year. I thought I would talk to you all about some of the products that I have been loving from one of my favourite places this year.

Note: This isn't a sponsored post. I just thought it would be good to share some light on a small business that create amazing products and could do with support going into 2021. The guys and staff at The Yorkshire Soap Company are amazing. Check out their products if you can.

A triangular clear plastic bottle with a clickable plastic clear circular lid filled with clear liquid with a oval silver clip at the top with a white rectangular label with Yorkshire soap company cola hand sanitiser in black font with triangular pieces of different coloured soap on white circular cake plates on a bright background

Cola Hand Sanitiser

Hand Sanitiser may seem a bit of a weird product to give as a gift. However, gifts are great when they are practical and I mean, who doesn't need sanitiser during these tough times? I always love drinking some Cola especially with ice and a slice of Lemon, and I love the fact that my hands can smell of Cola too. I love how this particular Sanitiser stands out against the many that are in the world right now, by having a clip. The reason that I love this, is because, I have a mediocre memory and having this product clipped to me means that I don't have to worry when it comes to trying to remember the location of the sanitiser that I am loving at the moment.

Gingerbread Person Soap

I love this because well who doesn't love a good Gingerbread Person? Who knows, they may talk to you about their friend who lives on Drury Lane? Yorkshire Soap have released these for the past couple of years and I have always loved them. Is it really Winter if there isn't something Gingerbread based wafting their scent throughout the house? Soap is something that we all need right now, and honestly, this is one of my most favourite Soaps when it comes to the Winter season to use. This soap contains amazing ingrediens such as, Cinnamon and some other spicy and fresh items. If anyone knows me, then they will know that I adore Cinnamon to the point that I will try and incoporate it in as many entities as possible at this time of year. This soap is amazing as a gift for someone special or yourself. Just remember to not touch the gumdrop buttons!

Yorkshire Christmas Candle

Candles and Winter just go together, right? I always love a good Candle during the colder months as it just makes you feel warm. Whether that be warmer on the inside or outside. I always love spicy scented Candles as they just make me feel cosy and comforted. This one is no exception but does have something unique to offer. This Candle contains Cinnamon and Orange. Not only do I love Cinnamon (check above), but I think that Cinnamon and Orange give a sort of spicy freshness that is hard to achieve in fragrances and Candles. Not only that, but Cinnamon and Orange give me a big festive feel as Oranges always remind me of the holiday season!

Reindeer Poo Bath Bon Bons

I know that Reindeer Poo doesn't sound like the greatest of names for a product. However, this jar of 'Reindeer Poo' is an amazing product. It contains a mixture of bath bon bons that consist of Chocolate Orange, Parma Violet, and, Musk. Chocolate Orange is always a Winter treat to me, whether that be in the form of a body based product or a food product. This product also comes in a gorgeous glass jar that can be used again and again as something to hold some amazing goodies in the future. I always love a product that can be used for multiple purposes.

Night Night Sweetheart Perfume

I know that this may sound abstract, but, I love fresh and fruity scents during Winter. I love how the sharpness of fruit can make you feel awake and ready to do anything whilst still feeling soothed at the same time. I love how Night Night Sweetheart contains Plum which creates this sort of sharp yet soothing feeling. This fragrance lasts for ages which I love because well its great when you can still smell the fragrance at the end of the day. I could just smell this fragrance all day long.

Have you tried anything from Yorkshire Soap Company? Have you tried any of the products mentioned in this post?

Jamie Noms Through Christmas | Starbucks Festive Menu 2019

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new Jamie Noms Through Christmas post! I thought that today I would talk to you all about the Christmas items at Starbucks within the UK. As, 3 of the 4 Red Cups were the same as last year, I've decided to mainly focus on the one that was new for 2019 and a couple of food items that I tried when trying the new Red Cup.

Two cylindrical plastic cup with domed lids filled with chocolate drinks with white cream next two light golden brown treats on a white circular plate on a brown wooden table on a bright background

Toasted Marshmallow Hot Chocolate/Frappuccino

'Delicious mocha sauce is blended with ice, marshmallow syrup, topped with marshmallow flavoured whipped cream and finished with a caramalised sugar topping.'

I loved this I liked the flavour contrast between the dark chocolate drink, and, the sweetness and charred flavour of the Toasted Marshmallow. I did wish that there was a lot more Marshmallow flavour in the drink, as it reminded me more of Chocolate Pudding, that it did Marshmallows. I did love the tiny crunch from the Caramelised Sugar that was on top of the drink! I also do think that it could be topped with some actual Toasted Marshmallows to evoke the flavours within. However, I understand why they didn't to try and ensure that they could keep it Vegan.

Twinkle & Sprinkle Salted Caramel Cupcake

'Butterscotch cupcake, caramel sauce filling, salted caramel buttercream topping.'

Okay, this was amazing! The Cupcake had a strong yet sugary Butterscotch taste to it which made the treat moreish. The sauce in the middle added great texture against the thick buttercream and the slightly crumbly Cupcake. I did wish that the Caramel Sauce was a little bit more cooked or with some salt in, as, I am a big sucker for thick flowing Salted Caramel. The buttercream was great and ended the sweet treat on a high. Sweet but not sickly.

Cran-Merry Cheesecake Muffin

'Vanilla sponge muffin with cranberries and white chocolate pieces filled with Mascarpone cheese.'

This was great. The Cream Cheese gave the Muffin a bit of a tender crumb, but, also gave the Muffin a bit of a Creamy taste. I loved the freshness of Cranberry against the sweetness of the Muffin, but, I do wish that there was a bit more flavour when it came to the Cranberries themselves. I also love the name of this one as it ties in so well with the Christmas Season. Who doesn't love a Christmas based pun?!

5 Tips On How To Tackle Winter Skin

Hey,

The weathers getting colder by the minute as you can tell from the random hit of snow that has occurred within Britain yesterday. This made me think about doing a post about tackling winter skin because although we wrap up to ensure that we stay warm, we normally forget to ensure that our skin is healthy and protected at the same time.

A stock image of the snowy outside. I got a stock image as I live on a main road so to get a picture of a stationary car on a raod is hard.

1: Water

I know this sounds like a stupid suggestion but drink plenty of water! We are meant to be drinking lots of water everyday however that is not the case! We forget to drink water normally due to the taste so instead we will drink things like fizzy drinks and coffee instead but we need to drink water to ensure that our body which includes our skin is being hydrated everyday which needs to happen in this cold weather!

2: Moisturise Regulary

This also sounds quite stupid but moisturise regularly as if you leave it quite a while then your skin  may become slightly chapped or sore and nobody wants that! Also, purchase a good overnight moisruriser to ensure that your skin is not becoming dry via the coldness of your room at night.

3: Moisturiser

This time of year calls for a heavier moisturiser. Something that will sort your skin out and keep it looking radiant. Something that is thick in consistency and says to help all skin types would be a safe option. I think that a good moisturiser would keep a nice barrier between your skin and the freezing weather. I would also choose a body moisturiser/butter that contains a good variety of oils/butters within it.

4: Exfoliate

Yes, this is another beauty tip! Guess what, this is a post about skin so there should be a good few beauty based tips. This one is about exfoliating as exfoliating helps to get rid of dead skin cells. This means that skin cells have regenerate which helps to protect the skin. I use Ocean Salt from Lush but any exfoliator is good! I also think things like lip and hand scrubs are needed throughout the Winter period!

5: Use Protection!

I obviously don't mean use condoms and such on your skin! What I mean is that you shouldn't forget things like hats, gloves, scarves and other winter essential accessories which will cover you up and keep your skin from drying out quickly! I love massive scarves and beanies!

Do you have any good winter skin tips? Let me know down below!

I hope that you have enjoyed this blog post and I hope that you are coping well with this cold weather. If anyone needs me then I'll be hibernating!

Thanks!
