Having A Lush Trip! | Lush Liverpool Spa Trip - May 2022

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. Today, I thought that I would talk to you all about the time I went to Lush Liverpool Spa a couple of weeks ago.

Myself and Alex had decided to visit Liverpool to celebrate my 25th birthday. The main reason that we went was because well Liverpool has one of the biggest Lush's in the world and well we all know what I am like with Lush. The weather was quite warm and humid on the first day of visiting Liverpool which caused me some anxiety so we decided to spend the second day of our visit checking out Lush Liverpool Spa.

We walked into the superstore and decided that it would be best to have a quick look around and then grab what we wanted due to there being a plethora of products on the ground floor alone. We walked up and down the ground floor nosing at all of the products.

The first section that we wandered to was the Fresh section. The Fresh section is actually made at the Liverpool store itself hence the name. This section consists of exclusive fresh products to Liverpool Spa itself. This includes Fresh Cleanser and Scrub Rolls. A couple of these (Aloe Bamboo and Ilipe Of Faith) have made their way to most of the stores in the UK but Liverpool Spa had a few others. The one that most stood out to me was Oaty McOatface because well that name! This section also contains all of the Fresh Face Masks that are stored in their own little section on ice in most stores and some more. The Liverpool Spa had exclusive masks such as Matcha, Date Night, Brush Strokes & Prince Of Darkness (which contains Patchouli, Lavender and some other goodies). I still have a tiny bit of both Matcha and Date Night and well Prince Of Darkness was calling to my inner dark so I decided to grab it. I think with this post, instead of doing a haul, I'll do reviews of the products themselves when I can so keep an eye out for them. The Fresh section also has an Enfleurage section which Alex and I spent some time looking at. What is an enfleurage?, I hear you ask. Well, an enfleurage is a sheet of creamy goodness that gets cut, rolled and packaged right in front of your eyes. If you have tried a Massage Bar from Lush before then imagine that but a bit creamier and in one big sheet instead of bars. I realised that I still had some Wiccy Magic Muscles enfleurage and none of the sheets had a product card attached to it so we were unsure which was which. This was a bit of a shame as i was sure there was an exclusive one to Liverpool but couldn't tell due to the lack of product cards.

When we decided to start walking again, we noticed the Peau-Paris Bath Bombshell. This bomb comes in two parts and can be personalised. The way this bomb can be personalised is through selecting what local flowers you want in the middle of it sourced by the wonderful staff and florists at Lush Liverpool Spa. This bomb shares the same scent as Rose Jam so if you're ever at the store and love that scent, definitely pick one up. As I knew that we were both travelling quite long distances back, neither of us decided to grab one just because we were not sure how it would hold up through a long train journey. It is priced at £15.

The next section that we scurried over to was the Hair section. I had heard that there were a few exclusive products in the hair section and even if I have sniffed or seen them before, I had to check them out again. The main three that stood out to me were Aga's, Valkyrie & Goddess Hair Treatment. I bought Valkyrie a few years ago when it was available online and I wanted to see if they had repackaged it at all. My reasoning for this is that, to me, Valkyrie is too thick to be stored in a bottle and in my opinion should be stored in a tub like some of the other hair products sold at Lush. This conditioner contains Hydrolized Wheat Potein to help repair and thicken the hair and has the iconic Rose Jam scent which consists of Rose, Lemon Oil and some other goodies. Alex has forever not been sold on the Rose Jam scented but adored it when they smelt Valkyrie... The next product that caught my eye was Aga's. For anyone who misses the Plum Rain Shower Gel or loves the Plum Rain Body Spray sold at Lush then this hair conditioner is definitely up your street. Aga’s shares the same scent with Plum Rain. To me, Plum Rain smells of Plums being rained on in a massive field. The scent is to die for. Aga’s again contains the Hydrolized Wheat Protein that is also in Valykrie but also is a purple conditioner. This means that it is perfect for anyone who bleaches their hair a lot as this conditioner will not only condition the hair but also tones it at the same time. I mean, who doesn't love a versatile product? The final product I loved the look of was the Goddess Hair Treatment. I kind of wished that I got the smaller size of Goddess perfume in the sale of 2021 as I am now finding that I quite like the scent notes of Goddess. I also should've got a sample of this product but I already asked for one of Aga's and was unsure if I could get a sample of it or not This shares the same scent and contains some amazing butters and oils to really nourish the hair.

The next part of the ground floor that we decided to discover was the Perfume Library. This contains every possible perfume that Lush has to offer. We sniffed ones that we had not sniffed in a while and decided to conquer a quest of all things perfume. Alex has had a very old solid perfume for a while. They weren't sure of what scent this solid product was so we decided to sniff a fair few fragrances and see which one it was. After some time, we figured out the it was Cocktail.

Once we were done conquering this quest, we both decided to take the lift to the first floor.

We had a wander around and decided to head into the corner where we found some exclusive products. We found all of the perfume bubble bars that were on offer. After Alex's sniffing section at The Perfume Library, they decided to grab the Cocktail Perfume Bubble Bar which made sense. I decided to grab the Karma Perfume Bubble Bar. Anyone that knows me personally knows how much I love Patchouli and in turn how much I love the Karma, Lord of Misrule and all of the other scent families that include Patchouli such as the 4:20 range and the Tank Battle perfume, just to name a few. After this we noticed the particulary huge Party area that was cordoned off. In this party area, there is a wonderful wall of some of Lush's well known products. A staff member noticed us looking at the wall and asked if we wanted to go in and snap a few pictures. We said yes of course.

Carrying on the first floor forage, we walked on and stopped in our paces when we noticed the cool conveyor belt that was zooming in circles and full of iconic bath bombs that are sold at Lush. We stood for a few minutes staring and getting lost in the laps that all of the products were taking. We then decided to go around the belt and look at some of the Shower Jellies that are sold at Liverpool Spa and the other anchor stores.  In a nutshell, the exclusive jellies are Crash (Celebrate scented, lime, orange and cognac), Bongo (Pineapple and Coconut scented), Beats (Maypole scemted - a sweet sort of mint candy cane like scent), Rumba (So White scented - a fresh green apple scent) and Gong (Golden Pear - cardamom and pear scented). We both sniffed them. Alex's favourites were Crash and Rumba. My favourites were Gong and Crash. I just love that sort of spicy kick to the fact that Gong gives especially on a cold morning.

Alex then decided to gift me a personalised Sleepy Body Lotion as Liverpool Spa is one of the only stores in the UK that has a personalisation station. The personalisation station lets you personalise a label of a product that you are about to purchase. Due to multiple reasons, Lush only keep the personalisation to one scent family at a time. This time it was Sleepy/Twilight. Alex spent a good twenty minutes deciding on what design would be perfect for me and what font would represent me the most. After spending some superb time on this mini digital art project, we submitted it and then found out that they weren't doing the labels today and that it would be best to come back the week after to do it. The sad part though was that we wouldn't be able to come back the week after to do it all over again. I was kind of looking forward to a personalised pot of Sleepy Lotion. Not only that, but I also felt bad that Alex had spent their hard time on creating this label to then get nothing in return. Was quite sad actually.

we decided that after this, we would stop off at the Cafe and grab a much needed coffee. I stuck to a Oat Latte. I'm not the biggest expert on Coffee but I really enjoyed the Coffee that was in this Latte. After some much needed rest, we decided to grab some more bath bombs such as the limited edition Orangutang Bomb that shared it scent with Lord of Misrule, a Dirty Bath Bomb due to it being out exclusively for Fathers Day and an Intergalactic Bomb due to well it just felt like a day where Intergalactic was needed. We had a look t the hair treatments that are exclusive to anchor stores and then made our way onto the Spa/third floor.

When we got there, I noticed a board for the Take A Bath Spa Treatment. I think that Lush's Spa Treatments are definitely for a special occasion and I was a bit annoyed with myself that I didn't know about this exclusive treatment that was only happening at Liverpool Spa as the premises of it sounded amazing. A spa treatment where you get to take some time for yourself and have a bath with the Diamond Dust Bomb. Sounds amazing. If I had known before going, then I would've considered booking it. I really need to try out some of the treatments at some point. Gladly I live near Lush Leeds Spa so the option is always there. I decided to grab a Dreamtime Temple Balm for a friend of mine whilst I was on the third floor which contains Lavender and can be used to help you go to sleep. I mean who doesn't need that at the moment? Alex picked up a Whoosh Temple Balm which can be used as a pick me up. I have one and mainly use it when train journeys are just that little bit long and I'm that little bit drained of energy after a long hard day of doing things.

After this, Alex picked up a solid T'eo Deodorant and then we decided to call it a day. Such an amazing time wandering around and getting to have a look at some of the exclusives that the Anchor Stores have such as the Get Closer Solid Deodorant.

Lush Lucky Tiger Bath Bomb Review

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. I thought that today I would talk to you all about the Lush Lunar New Year bath bomb 'Lucky Tiger'. I haven't done blog posts like this for a while so do bear with me as I have mainly stuck to creating first impression based posts about Lush products as it has just been a bit easier for me to create when there has been several products to discuss in one post.

A photo of a light brown wooden square box containing a bunch of spherical tiger shaped orange bath bombs with a gold glitter shimmer to them next to a portrait back card with lucky tiger in white font on a bright background

List Of Ingredients

Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Alcohol Denat., Dark Sumatran Patchouli Oil, Brazilian Orange Oil, Lavandin Oil, Siberian Fir Needle Oil, Lemongrass Oil, Elemi Oil, Water (Aqua), Titanium Dioxide, Dipropylene Glycol, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, *Citral, *Citronellol, *Hydroxycitronellal, *Limonene, *Linalool, Perfume, Colour 15985:1, Colour 19140:1, Colour 77491

I first saw the spoilers for this bath bomb and as soon as I saw that it was Karma scented, I knew that I had to have it! I am also quite happy that Lush is slowly releasing a range for Lunar New Year as I know a fair few people that celebrate it and its nice to know that somewhere that I go to will have products for Lunar New Year that I can give as gifts.

If you haven't smelt Karma before then the best way to describe it is sort of a mixture between deep dark slightly smoky Patchouli, with punches of citrus mainly coming from a mix of Orange and Lemongrass and Incense. I realise that this sounds like such an odd mixture but I really enjoy it. I could also say that to my nose, it does remind me of a sort of mature Chocolate Orange scent.

The scent of this bath bomb plays on the above. To me, the Patchouli and Orange come out the most in this bomb. The Lemongrass is more subtle and if you search for it in the bomb you can kind of find it. In my opinion, the other products such as Elemi, Lavender and the Fir Needle oils boost the Patchouli and Orange more than anything. I think that out of these three, the Lavender is pretty much non-existent whereas the other two help the Orange come out a bit more. I did also realise if you left this bomb covered up and left for a day or two, the Patchouli did seem to come out a lot more.

When using this bath bomb, I noticed that it mainly turned the bath water a sort of mixture of Orange and Gold which I absolutely loved. The mixture of these two colours really uplifted my mood. The strangeness of the scent when I dropped it into the water was quite strong. I loved this as sometimes with bath bombs, I notice that the scent can be quite muted which then makes the point of using the bath bomb a bit pointless because well the point of using it is to make your bath smell gorgeous which this bomb definitely did. As mentioned above, the two most dominant scents were Patchouli and Orange and if you don't like either of this then you may not enjoy this product. Not only is this bomb gorgeous to look at, but, it is also gorgeous to use. So gorgeous to the point that I have bought multiple of these to go with my Karma perfume. It is such an amazing scent to use on a cold morning (which at the moment is every day) as it will definitely make you feel happy and uplifted whilst still evoking the feeling of Winter slightly with the Fir Needle and Patchouli Oils.

Would I buy it again? Definitely! As stated, I did buy multiples of this product due to it being out only for the duration of the Lunar New Year festivities. I think that this could be brought out as an all year round product. Well, I hope that it does. The Karma range is not only one of my favourites at Lush but many other members of the publics favourite range from Lush and it would be a shame to not bring out a bath bomb all year round with the Karma scent.

I would give this a 9/10 overall. Why am I not giving it a 10/10? The main reasons are the fact that it is limited edition so if I enjoyed it, I had to use it before Lunar New Year to ensure that I could get another to save and enjoy later on int the year which during COVID and January when it is forever cold is a bit of a pain.

Priced at £6.

A Bath Bomb But For The Shower?! Say What?! | Karma Shower Bomb Review

Hey everyone!

How are you?

Welcome to a brand new post! I thought that today, I would talk to you all about the new Karma Shower Bomb from Lush. Side note: who's at Lush Showcase this weekend? Let me know down below!

Lush released their Lush Moods range via their Lush Labs section on their website. These were slowly released into the UK stores. The Lush Moods range consists of multiple products, including, a body conditioner, some bath bombs and Shower Bombs.

A light orange dense pyramid shower bomb on a white background.

Ingredients & Scent

The ingredients that are in this product include,

Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Citric Acid, Potato Starch, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Calcium Lactate,  Sodium Alginate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Patchouli Oil, Brazilian Orange Oil, Lavandin Oil, Pine Oil, Elemi Oil, Water (Aqua), Turmeric Powder, Citral, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Colour 15510, Colour 47005, Colour 19140.

The Cream Of Tartar, Citric Acid and Potato Starch help the product to foam up. The starch also helps to slightly scrub at the skin when using it. If you have used any Karma scented product before then you'll know the scent. Patchouli gives a sort of earthy but slightly spicy scent, Pine offsets the full on spice in the Patchouli, and Orange gives it some brightness.

How To Use It:

The way to use this is to pick up the block, get in the shower, turn the shower on and put the bomb in the palm of your hand, and then let the water run over it so it foams up. Once it has foamed, use that foam to wash yourself. The oils mixed with the hot water will make your shower smell amazing, and will make you feel amazing!

Texture:

The texure of the bomb before using it is very powdery. Once you put it under the water in the shower, the product creates a foam. That foam is the most luxurious and smooth foam that you'll come across in a long white. The Starch acts like a scrub and the foam is reminiscent of a body butter/mousturiser.

Price:

The price of this particular Shower Bomb (there are more, go and check Lush to find the rest) is £2.75.) It's meant for one use, but you can definitely get 2-3 uses out of it!

Overall Thoughts:

I love this! I love Karma at this time of year, as its uplifting but spicy, so its a great scent for Summer to Autumn.I love how you can experience the bomb phenomenon even if you don't have a bath. The price is fab especially as you get more than one use out of it, and let's be honest, most bath bombs are double that price. I think that the powder is a bit annoying and messy, when you're trying to get it out of the packet when you're about to use it. Although, I get why it's there and I love how it can be used for an in shower scrub.

Have you tried anyt of the new Shower Bombs yet? Let me know down below!

Do You Believe In Snow Fairies With Magic Wands? | Lush Leeds Spa Christmas Event

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new post! How's your week going so far? Sorting everything out for Christmas? Let me know down below! I thought that today, I would talk to you guys all about the Lush Christmas Event that I was invited to a good couple of weeks ago.

We entered the store and walked into a Winter Wonderland via Fairy Lights. The only problem with this was trying to guide Luke around them as trying to get a tall blind person ducking under fairy lights whilst there were bowls of water about was a bit tricky. It also kind of triggered my anxiety sadly because I kept thinking that either one of us would end up catching them then they'd fall into the water and the whole store would be evacuated... Just me, haha?

Anyways, we grabbed a drink each and went to go smell some of the amazing bath products from the Christmas range. I loved the smell of Christmas Sweater which contains Ginger & Mustard Powders and Clove Bud Oil which gives the bath a spicy but warming scent. These ingredients are all stimulating which is great for those cold nights. It also has a wonderfully festive reindeer design engraved itnto it.

Star Light Star Bright is back this Christmas! This Bath Melt holds a special place in my heart. It's one of the first bath products from Lush that I fell in love with. I'm not sure if its because of the wonderful butters that are in this product, the scent or the fact that its covered in sliver lustre but I just love it! The scent consists of Lime, Ginger and Almond Oil which gives the product a spicy but fresh scent which I love at this time of year!

Plum Snow was a new one that I was actually adoring. I've tried Plum Snow before via it's Shower Gel relative Plum Rain and I was a bit unsure with that but I think that this bubble bar is slightly more sweeter which makes me love it that little bit more. It's also quite a big size for a bubble bar! This product contains Osmanthus Absolute, Pettigrain Oil and Sicilian Mandarin Oil which gives this Bubble Bar a sweet yet zingy smell which is great for those long dark nights.

We then headed down to the Spa area with Jada to find out more about the Karma Spa Experience, If you want to find out more about the Karma Spa Experience then click here to read my post about the Karma Spa Event that happened at Lush Leeds Spa a while ago.

Mysef and Luke then talked to Katie and found out that we sadly had missed the chance to create two bath bombs so we decided to chat with Katie for a while and check out some of the new solid versions of products that are out for Christmas and the new Shower Gels.

The Solid version of Shower Gels and Shower/Body Conditioners are there for people that are on the go or for those who want to save some packaging. They are not a soap due to the ingredients that are packed in them but also because they actually lather up like a proper shower gel.

Due to moving into halls or the year, I have slowly being loving Shower Gels and Jellies from Lush more and more. Lush have released six shower gels this year which includes Bubbly, Snow Fairy, Rose Jam, Twilight, Santa's Christmas  and Berry Berry Christmas. I think that most Lush fans will hate me when I say I'm not the biggest fan of either Twilight or Snow Fairy. I can cope with Rose Jam every now and again but I normally forget to pick some up at Christmas due to the Rose Jam Bubbleroon and now the Body Spray. I love Santa's Christmas! If you like Santa Baby Lip Scrub or anything that smells of Cherry Cola then you will love this! I'm a bit confused as Berry Berry Christmas as I get Berries but I don't fully understand why this is under the Christmas range as it could be an all year round scent.

We said our goodbyes and left the event with Jada and Katie and walked towards the train station.

Have you tried any of the Lush Christmas range? Let me know down below!

Click here to have a look at Lush and all of their products.

Thanks to the Lush PR staff for inviting myself and Luke to the event and for putting on this very fesive event.

I hope that you've enjoyed this post about Lush and I hope that you come back next time for another blog post!

Karma, Karma Chameleon! | Karma Spa Treatment Launch at Lush Leeds Spa

Hey!

Welcome to a brand new blog post! I was invited to the Lush Leeds Spa to their Karma Spa Bloggers Event and I thought that I wouFluld tell you all what happened within this blog post today.

Myself and Luke headed towards the beautiful building. We said our hellos to the other wonderful bloggers that came to the event such as Jess, Katie and everyone else. After this, we were told what the night was going to consist of and that tills were open for the entirety of the event so if you wanted to purchase anything in a quiet environment then that would be absolutely fine to do so.

We chatted for a tiny bit and had a look around before heading down to Lush Spa to experience the Karma Spa Treatment in its excellent entirety. We (myself and Luke) went down into the Spa with the wonderful Jess and her husband

When we arrived in the Kitchen which I normally refer to as the hub of the Spa due to it being the first thing you see as soon as you enter has interior inspired by the coasts of England and Poole which is the hometown of the beloved Lush company. The CEO of Lush wanted to create a British Spa to reflect the ethos of Lush but as Spas are normally more known in the forms of Turkish Spas and so forth so he wanted to promote that England can create something beautiful and peaceful.

We then moved into the first treatment room which consisted of someone being massaged all over via two different members of staff which made for a unique and harmioned experience. The massage also focused on the many tension points that run throughout the body, mind and spirit. We also tried out the Karma Massage Bar which has been on the Lush Kitchen in the past week or so. This Massage Bar contains Patchouli, Sweet Orange, Pine and Lemongrass Oils which give the product that spicy with a citrus hint scent thats infamous with Karma at Lush. The bar also contains Coconut Oil, Butter and Shea Butter to nourish the skin. The room was filled with the same scent which was provided via a solid oil product which dissolved in hot water and permeated the room. We were also treated to another limited edition Karma product that is only available to use via the treatment which was a Karma version of Ceridwen's Cauldron which is a big Bath Melt.

We then went into the next room where I was treated to an amazing head massage whilst we all talked about the new Gorilla Perfumes which I'll talk about later in the post and the Karma scent as a whole as I think that it's very much a love/hate scent mainly via the Patchouli.

Myself and Luke then went into the next room which was a meditation room where we were told to do certain things such as imagine that our worries were a ball of light and that we were letting it out into the centre of Leeds to float away and much more. After this, the patuent is treated to warm coconut water that is poured from a Shirodhara vessel over the third eye and hair to create a meditative state of mind.

We then had a wonderful hot Karma hand and arm massage which settled into a more citrus note due to the Lemongrass and Sweet Orange Oils. I loved it! The best thing about the massage was how soft my skin felt after it.

After this, we looked at the new Gorilla Perfume range. This range has five different scents. Cardamom Coffee which well contains Cardamom and Coffee. The background behind this is that when Simon (the CEO of Lush) was travelling in India, he was invited into certain houses and was given a cup of Cardamom Coffee to drink. This has a spicy but deep scent to it.

The next scent was I'm Home which reminded me of a deep baking cookies sort of scent This one contains Cocoa and Vanilla Absolute's which definitely give a deep sweet scent to this product. Again, the background of this scent comes from when Simon finally arrived home from his travels.

Number three out of five is Amelie Mae. If you're a big Lushie then you might know of Amelie Mae's big sister Imogen Rose. This scent is based around floral as it contains Rose Absolute and Ylang Ylang Oil. The background of this one is apparently that Amelie Mae was jealous that Imogen Rose had a perfume so she finally talked to Simon and they created this perfume!

Rentless' backstory is about a homeless man that Simon met on his travels who made shelter out of most things that he could from what I remember. The man always said that he wasn't homeless but instead was rentless because he was always moving and I believe that this stuck with Simon so he made something that everyone else would remember after it. Rentless contains Patchouli and Grapefruit Oils and Tonka Absolute which give the product a sort of deep fruity scent in a way.

Last but not least on the perfume list is What Would Love Do? I think the background of this one is al about the love that Simon saw whilst on his travels within the past year. This product contains Grapefruit, Tangerine and Lavender Oils which give this perfume a sort of soft citrus scent.

After smelling all of the new perfumes and washcards (which are only £2 which mean if you want to try the new scents but you don't want to fully commit to them then you can use this and see how you feel), we went on over to make a product, there was the choice of making a Butterbear Bath Ballistic and Creamy Candy Bubble Bar but as we went on over later in the event, there was only the mix for the Butterbear's left. We mde the wonderful bears by putting some of the light brown mix into the nose poart of the mould then we covered the rest of the mould in the Cocoa Butter based white mix and then ensured that it was compact enough to set. The only problem with making fresh Lush products is that you have to wait 24 hours for them to set before using them.

We then said our goodbyes and went off back home. Lush wonderfully provided us with a goodie bag each which I thought I would tell you about not to shove in your faces but to just in case you want to know what was in the bag. Myself and Luke got given a Karma Bubble Bar which contains a silver Bath Melt top on each Bubble Bar, a Marmalade Jelly Bomb which contains Grapefruit Oil and makes the skin incredibly soft! There was also a Karma Solid Oil Fizzer in each goodie bag which can be used to scent the room with the wonderful Karma scent.

What's your favourite Lush product? Let me know down below!

Check out Lush here for all of your face and skin needs. Don't forget to check out the Karma range and the new perfumes whilst you're on there!

Thanks to the wonderful Lush staff for inviting me to the Karma Spa Treatment Event and for putting on an amazing night and being wonderful at the event!

I hope that you've enjoyed this beauty based blog post and I hope that you come back next time for another blog post!
