Preserving My Youthful Self In Some Uber Lush Products | Lush New Self-Preserving Products 2022 - Ultrabland, Mask Of Magnaminty & Enzymion

 Hey everyone!

Welcome to a brand new blog post. I recent6l was gifted some of the new Self Preserving products from the lovely PR team at Lush and I thought that today I would talk to you all about it.

Three cylindrical black pots all on their side with the lid showing, all with black labels and white font. One saying ultrabland self-preserving cleanser, one with mask of magnanimity face and body mask and one saying Enzymion self-preserving moisturiseron a long rectangular light brown shelf on a bright background

What is Self-Preserved?

Our skin is home to helpful microflora that defend against invading bacterial pathogens. At Lush we use minimal preservatives in our products when we have to, and over the decades have been working hard to remove preservatives from products wherever we can.

Made from butters, oils and essential oils without preservatives, the new self-preserving producrs have a slightly richer formula and are just as effective with all the goodness. They are best used fresh, within 6 months.’ - Lush UK.

Ultrabland Self-Preserving Cleanser

Almond Oil, Beeswax, Honey, Water (Aqua), Rose Water, Fresh Iris Extracted in Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Glycerine, Glyceryl Stearate, Tincture of Benzoin, *Benzyl Alcohol, *Benzyl Benzoate, *Benzyl Cinnamate

This Cleanser is more of a balm texture that turns into a sort of hybrid of a cream and an oil to me. I have been using it recently as the first part of a double cleanser and a night time style cleanser. As I have quite dry skin, this cleanser works amazingly for me. It cleanses my skin but doesn’t strip it like a lot of other cleansers seem to do and leave my skin feeling soft and supple which honestly is always the goal.

I did see Shea Coulee use this in a video and ever since I have been humming and ahhing about purchasing it and using it so I was more than ecstatic to be gifted it. Now that I know that my skin loves it I will definitely be using it more and more. If you have more normal skin then this would be a great cleanser to use during the colder months

The scent and self-preserving factor mainly comes from the Honey and Rose Water. These two combine to create a slightly fresh and sweet scent which is great especially at night when you don’t want to use products with too much of a stimulating or awakening scent.

Mask Of Magnaminty Self-Preserving Face & Body Mask

Honey, Kaolin, Bentone gel, Talc, Glycerine, Ground Organic Aduki Beans, Evening Primrose Seeds, Peppermint Oil, Tagetes Oil, Vanilla Absolute, *Limonene, Perfume, Chlorophyllin

Okay, I may be a little bit bias with this product as I have been using Mask Of Magnaminty for a fair few years now.

The texture of the mask is everything. It combines all of the textures that you would want in a face mask into one. This mask starts out by vbeing slightly creamy due to the Honey and Glycerine then sets up into a form matte mask due to the talc and kaolin the longer you leave it on and then also has the scrubby texture due to the ground Aduki and Primrose Seeds.

The scent of this product is quite an unusual one. Yes it is minty but it isn’t that sort of fresh mint that is in a lot of beauty products. This mint smell has a sort of backbone to it. It sort of smells like fresh mint that has been left to dry in the sun. This is probably due to the mixture of Peppermint Oil and Vanilla Absolute.

I love how that this version is a little bit richer and more moisturising  than the non-preserving one as my skin loves anything that is buttery and nourishing. As I have lactose intolerance, I can end up having dry yet acne prone skin and this mask definitely does the trick due the mix of humectants and exfoliates. If you also get acne due to stress or hormones and want a mask that you can whack on and forget about for a while then I would definitely recommend this one. (It’s also green so if you want a mask to enjoy with a friend on a fun night in then I’d definitely recommend this one!)

Enzymion Self-Preserving Moisturiser

Fresh Lemon Infusion, Organic Jojoba Oil, Glycerine, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Stearic Acid, Perfume, Propylene Glycol, Organic Avocado Oil, Organic Cold Pressed Evening Primrose Oil, Almond Oil, Water (Aqua), Wheatgerm oil, Triethanolamine, Tangerine Oil, Lime Oil, Fresh Aloe Gel, Freshly Juiced Lemon, Freshly Juiced Papaya, Cetearyl Alcohol, *Citral, *Citronellol, *Limonene, *

Anyone that knows me will know that I love anything that Is full of butters when it comes to skincare and that I love Lemons. I mean I love Lemons a lot!

The texture of this moisturiser to me is a bit of a weird one. It’s slightly creamy and quite liquid based in the tub but when you apply it to the skin, it becomes a bit more like a balm. I guess in essence it’s the opposite of Ultrabland to me. This may be due to the mixture of Cocoa Butter, Jojoba Oil, Evening Primrose, Wheatgwrm and Aloe.

To me the scent was amazing. When I mixed it into my skin, I definitely got a freshly picked citrus vibe from it. I could definitely smell the mixture of Papaya, Lemon and Tangerine and honestly I loved it. I kind of wished that Lush did more products with this scent especially for the Summer. This is definitely a product that is meant for Summer.

Would I buy any of these again? Definitely. I mean I’ve bought MOM plenty of times and will carry on purchasing it. Once I have finished Ultrabland I may look into the other cleansers at Lush and come back to it in the colder months or when I’m feeling more confident (aka when I want to start getting a little bit into makeup again) and wanting a good cleanser to break down makeup and I can see Enzymion becoming a Summertime staple. All in all 8.6/10 for all three items combined as a routine.

I love that these items are now self-preserving as not only will they help my skin that little bit more but will wlso keep for longer.

5 Tips On How To Tackle Winter Skin

Hey,

The weathers getting colder by the minute as you can tell from the random hit of snow that has occurred within Britain yesterday. This made me think about doing a post about tackling winter skin because although we wrap up to ensure that we stay warm, we normally forget to ensure that our skin is healthy and protected at the same time.

A stock image of the snowy outside. I got a stock image as I live on a main road so to get a picture of a stationary car on a raod is hard.

1: Water

I know this sounds like a stupid suggestion but drink plenty of water! We are meant to be drinking lots of water everyday however that is not the case! We forget to drink water normally due to the taste so instead we will drink things like fizzy drinks and coffee instead but we need to drink water to ensure that our body which includes our skin is being hydrated everyday which needs to happen in this cold weather!

2: Moisturise Regulary

This also sounds quite stupid but moisturise regularly as if you leave it quite a while then your skin  may become slightly chapped or sore and nobody wants that! Also, purchase a good overnight moisruriser to ensure that your skin is not becoming dry via the coldness of your room at night.

3: Moisturiser

This time of year calls for a heavier moisturiser. Something that will sort your skin out and keep it looking radiant. Something that is thick in consistency and says to help all skin types would be a safe option. I think that a good moisturiser would keep a nice barrier between your skin and the freezing weather. I would also choose a body moisturiser/butter that contains a good variety of oils/butters within it.

4: Exfoliate

Yes, this is another beauty tip! Guess what, this is a post about skin so there should be a good few beauty based tips. This one is about exfoliating as exfoliating helps to get rid of dead skin cells. This means that skin cells have regenerate which helps to protect the skin. I use Ocean Salt from Lush but any exfoliator is good! I also think things like lip and hand scrubs are needed throughout the Winter period!

5: Use Protection!

I obviously don't mean use condoms and such on your skin! What I mean is that you shouldn't forget things like hats, gloves, scarves and other winter essential accessories which will cover you up and keep your skin from drying out quickly! I love massive scarves and beanies!

Do you have any good winter skin tips? Let me know down below!

I hope that you have enjoyed this blog post and I hope that you are coping well with this cold weather. If anyone needs me then I'll be hibernating!

Thanks!

Zeos For Men QU3 Range

Hi!

The guys over at Zeos For Men sent me some amazing male grooming goodies to try out so I thought that I would talk to you guys about them today.

Zeos For Men are all about creating simple exactly what you need male grooming products for the modern man. They started to help the evolution in male grooming products in 2014 via their warm waxing kit and slowly have kept up to this with all of their other amazing products. The whole point of Zeos For Men is to make yourself look as good as possible with the least amount of hassle as possible!

Face Wash:

Black bottle with a description of the face wash.

The first product that I tried out was the face wash as I knew that I would be using this a lot due to well things such as lactose intolerance causing breakouts and such. This product cleanses deep into the pores so you get a really good sort of fresh cleaned feeling after. It's also got Vitamin E and B5 in and is Vegan so you know it is a great product. The smell of the whole range/this face wash is a very clean sort of spring water scent which I love first thing in the morning as it instantly wakes you up! (£7.95.)

Face Scrub

Black sleek bottle with description of face scrub on.

This face scrub scrubs so well. It gets into all the nooks and crannies of your face to get rid of all of hose dead skin cells and just makes your face feel completely brand new which I absolutely love! Generic face scrubs sometimes are a tad too harsh whereas this one from Zeos For Men has Shea Butter in which means that if your face is a tad sensitive like mine then it won't feel like you've had three layers removed in one go and will feel like a normal light face polish! All the products in this range have the Vitamins within and are all Vegan which I absolutely adore! (£7.95.)

Shower Gel

Black sleek bottle with description of shower gel on front.

I've used this a couple of times now and it works like a treat! It removes odour and dirt so well that you feel as fresh as a new baby! I also think that this product refreshes and awakens yourself due to the smell and sort of cooling feeling it has. I love using this first thing in the morning! It's Vegan and it's great for the hair as well! (£4.95.)

Moisturiser

Black bottle with description of moisturiser on it.

I always love a good moisturiser! Moisturisers always help sort my skin out when I need a boost of moisture plus they're great for when the weather gets quite cold and you need something to keep your skin from getting dry. This product has Shea Butter in so it definitely keeps your face in perfect tip top shape and has good Vitamins in which means that you're always making your face great. I always have this in my bag for when I need it! (£8.95.)

Have you tried any of these? Let me know down below!

I hope that you check them out as they are really worth buying and trying for yourself especially if you want skincare thats amazing yet simple. I hope that you have enjoyed this blog post.
