Hey everyone!
Welcome to a brand new blog post! This Summer, Lush have released a range that combines two of Lush's most well known scents (Super Milk and Snow Fairy) into a behemoth of an amazing product range and I thought that today I would talk to you all about it!
I was kindly sent the Super Fairy Shower Gel from the wonderful team at Friends Of Lush and Lush.
Super Fairy Bath Bomb
Ingredients:
Citric Acid, Cornstarch, Perfume, Litsea Cubeba Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Vanilla Absolute, West Timor Sandalwood Oil, Persian Lime Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Coconut Milk Powder, Water, Synthetic Musk, Epsom Salts, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Dipropylene Glycol, Sodium Coco Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Tin Oxide, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citral, Limonene, Colour 45410:2, Colour 17200, Colour 45410.
This bath bomb not only looks the part due to the swirling effect that dominates the design of this beautiful bath bomb but also smells the part! Super Fairy Bath Bomb combines the two iconic scents by the inclusion of Litsea Cubeba Oil, Vanilla Absolute and Benzoin Resinoid and Sandalwood Oil from Super Milk alongside Coconut Milk Powder which evokes the plethora of nut milks that are used on the original Super Milk Hair Primer whilst Synthetic Musk and Persian Lime Oil create the iconic Snow Fairy scent that makes everyone feel festive and sweet!
I also love the addition of Epsom Salts in this bath bomb as it helps to relax me and my sore muscles which happens a fair bit during the summer months due to the amount of adventuring that I get up to whilst the weather is warm and the days are long and bright!
The scent of the bath bomb to me does smell like a mixture of both Super Milk and Snow Fairy however when I used this in the bath tub, the creamy slightly citrusy scent of Super Milk came out a little bit more than Snow Fairy. The Snow Fairy in the bath bomb to me mainly helped to add a slightly sweet edge to the quite fresh and creamy scent of Super Milk. My skin feel amazing after using Super Fairy Bath Bomb due to the Coconut Milk Powder. My body also felt gorgeous and restored due to the addition of Epsom Salts. I've been quite achy for a while and honestly Lush Bath Bombs that contain Epsom Salts and other products such as the After Massage Bar have been a godsend for me!
Super Fairy Shower Gel
Ingredients:
Glycerine, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Coconut Milk, Oat Milk, Almond Milk, Fine Sea Salt, Calcium Lactate, Lauryl Betaine, Polysorbate 20, Perfume, Lactic Acid, Titanium Dioxide, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Litsea Cubeba Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Vanilla Absolute, West Timor Sandalwood Oil, Persian Lime Oil, Fresh Lemon Juice, Water (Aqua), Synthetic Musk, Propylene Glycol, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Tin Oxide, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citral, Coumarin, Linalool, Colour 45410:2, Colour 45410.
Not only does Super Fairy share the same scent DNA as the iconic Super Milk Hair Primer also shares the same base! Now you can have your skin feeling as amazing as your hair does after using Super Milk Hair Primer!
As the base of this Shower Gel is Coconut Milk, Almond Milk and Oat Milk, it feels a bit unfair calling it a Shower Gel rather than a Shower Milk to me! Not only do the three milks help to soothe and nourish the skin beautifully but to me create a gorgeous milky lather in the shower which as someone with dry skin feels amazing on my skin. Don't get me wrong, I adore the foamy lather of Lush's iconic Shower Gels but honestly this is truly something else and I am really glad that Lush have released this formula. To me, it reminds me of a slightly lighter version of the Turmeric Latte Shower Gels formula!
As mentioned throughout this blog post, Super Fairy combines the iconic creamy citrus scent of Super Milk with the candy floss sweet Snow Fairy scent to create a truly unique scent for the summer. In my opinion, the shower gel smells and resembles the Snow Fairy Milkshake Shower Gel from Christmas 2024 quite a bit with a touch of creamy lemony goodness from Super Milk. I guess the best way I could describe it is that the Snow Fairy comes out a lot when lathering it up onto your body in the shower and Super Milk comes out a little bit more when you're drying after a gorgeous routine in the bathroom!
If you're a dry skin person then I think that this gel will be the perfect product for you. It's hydrating without being too thick on the body which is great for those days in the summer where you want something that isn't too heavy but is still moisturising for the skin and smells absolutely gorgeous!
Super Fairy Body Lotion
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Almond Oil, Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter, Glycerine, Stearic Acid, Triethanolamine, Litsea Cubeba Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Vanilla Absolute, West Timor Sandalwood Oil, Persian Lime Oil, Titanium Dioxide, Synthetic Musk, Cetearyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Citral, Coumarin, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Colour 45410, Colour 45410:2, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.
You can't have a Super Fairy routine without a Body Lotion! This product is definitely here to ensure that you are soft and supple all Summer long!
Super Fairy Body Lotion contains Almond Oil and Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter which both will help to ensure that your skin feels soft and hydrated. This product shares the same ingredients as the rest of the Super Fairy range but to me this leans very much towards the Super Milk end of the spectrum with a splash of Snow Fairy added for a touch of sweetness .To me in this format, the Benzoin and Sandalwood come to the forefront quite a bit regarding the scent which creates a sort of vibrant smoky note to the fragrance of the Body Lotion. This reminds me of when you instantly spray the Super Milk Hair Primer as I also get a sort of deep resinous smoky note when I instantly smell that in my hair after I've sprayed it.
The lotion sinks into my skin quite easily which I adore as my skin is quite dry and I am forever in a rush in a morning so a quick sinking lotion is always the dream for me. However, my only qualm with the Super Fairy Lotion is that it does leave a slightly tacky feeling on my skin after I've massaged it into the skin and left it to sink in. I'm not fully sold on that feeling just because I can still slightly feel it on my skin. The main way that I have been rectifying the tacky feeling post massaging it in is via sprinkling and massaging in a little bit of Fairy Dist on top of the lotion. I get that this might be a bit cumbersome but I do have to admit that it has been a game changer when it comes to the wanting soft and moisturised skin during the heatwave that has been going through the UK recently!
I love this range and I do think that the products having a bit of a different scent depending on the product can be a bit strange at first but after using these products for a good while now I do like that they have a slightly different scent depending on the product base. It means that I can layer them together such as using the gel, washing it off and then layering the lotion on top to create a multidimensional scent that lingers on my skin for hours. I do think that the Super Fairy Range could do with a fragrance as well. Maybe a solid perfume perhaps? I think that a fragrance just to top the routine off would be amazing!
Have you tried any of the products in the Super Fairy Range at Lush? What are your thoughts? Let me know!
Thanks again to the wonderful team at Friends Of Lush for gifting me the Super Faory Shower Gel.
Thanks for reading!
